Most amazing stadiums I’ve been to…

1) Target Field
2) Kyle Field
3) Dudy Noble Stadium

I’ve been to many, but most stadiums run together and it really becomes something about fan hood or personal experience. I mean, for instance… a lot of people here Love the new Georgia Dome and hate Jerry World. I’m the opposite and it’s because of 2 things… 1) I prefer Dallas than Atlanta and 2) SPACE in and around the stadium.

As for BDS…. It’s hard to be objective as a Bama fan. Personally if I could rank it in the SEC I would probably rank it somewhere between 3-5.

Out of curiousity…which ones would you rank higher?

I‘ve been to Tiger stadium at night. I wasn’t that impressed. It was the night Alabama beat Saban down there. May have been the coldest game I’ve ever been to. So maybe that was part of my judging it.

My question is how Trip advisor has a North Korean stadium and FedEx field in the top 50 but not Target Field. Because the site that is coming up with this list is basing most of their top 50 off trip advisor hits.

Well Kyle would be one. It’s a better version of BDS. I guess Kyle Field, and Tiger Stadium (at night) are probably the two best in the SEC.
Is it the “night time atmosphere” at Tiger Stadium, or the “physical structure of the venue “ itself that moves it above BDS in your ranking of them?

It’s more the place at night.

I think the hardest parts about ranking BDS is that I’m a Bama fan and I’ve been there 10 billion times. So the nostalgia and minor annoyances are always in my head Whereas places that I’ve been once they are not so much.

For example… every mlb stadium list that I see always has Kaufman stadium (Royals stadium) up high. They talk mostly about the fountains. I’ve been there a lot and I look past the cool fountains and look at how bad the upper deck is and how the location makes the stadium aesthetically less pleasing.

I attended every home game in BDS (and Legion Field) during the ’89-‘92 seasons while I was at UA…but have only been to a handful more since graduating. I haven’t even been inside the stadium since the upper deck was completely closed in. Heck, I hardly even recognize the campus and surrounding areas any longer…from my student days…it has changed so much.

Some of us can remember the BDS before it had an upper deck. When I was at UA from 73-80, the lower deck today WAS the stadium. The two end zone scoreboards provided minimal information. But the team was usually very good, especially against the level of competition that came to Tuscaloosa, as opposed to Birmingham.
