As a UT fan I can tell you this is the nightmare we who love God's favorite (ok I admit I'm taking a little liberty here :biggrin school could imagine having.

This reminds me of when auburn played tennessee a few years ago in the SEC championship game. I hated both teams, but I ended up pulling for the vols.

I only pull for the Vols to lose. But now that Fullmer is gone maybe I need to take another look at them.

Yeah, it's tuff when you don't like the teams that are playing, and especially since this weeks game is the biggest SEC title game ever with what's on the line for both teams.....

I'd think you'd be used to it by now, considering over 1/3rd of all SECCG's have been Bama/UF...

It will take awhile but with Phil gone (notice I left off the Phat?) I think we might get back to the great rivalry it once was. Again, I don't see it happening for a generation, but it will likely happen again! Those of us old enough to remember the "real" rivalry it was are happy that he's toast!

On a different note I personally think that UT could have done a LOT better than Kiffin! Bad hire in my personal opinion! He wasn't even qualified to get the Minnesota job (they interviewed him) before he got the Oakland job!

I was pulling for a meteor strike.

Before the Soviet Union fell, whenever UT and Auburn played I rooted for a nuclear strike.

I never have hated Tennessee, just their coach. The first game I ever attended was when Peyton broke the streak. We sat in the UT section and were treated well. There was some playful jabbing, but no one was overly rude to us.

Back in those days, I used to always say Auburn was the rival we hated and Tennessee was the rival we respected. I hope it can return to that now that UT is getting a new coach.

As for ALLVOL, I would like an outsider's opinion on this match up. What would be your keys for each team and... who ya gonna pull for?

They have to. After sitting in that stadium for 3+ hours learning what a sardine feels like, if it were painfully annoying to get away from the stadium and through traffic could you imagine the road rage and riots that would ensue???

Seriously, I think the seats are 3 or 4 inches smaller than BDS and the rows are at least 6 inches closer together.

I think it could be a very good game. For me the game will depend on how Alabama handles UF speed. They are very, very fast all over the place. If Alabama can handle the speed it will be a close game. What UF has done against good teams this year is play close until about half way through the 3rd qtr then pull away. As for who I will root for... Lord only knows.

I feel your pain, AllVol. I felt the same way when Tenn & The Barn played.

Hopefully with Fulmer gone our rivalry becomes more healthy & respectful. The more wins we can string together against the Vols, the more respectful I'll be toward the rivalry... :biggrin:
