Re: WR Eldridge Massington Updates

I have no info, but I wonder if Dee Hart might take a medical. He is still on crutches, and I have to wonder if his knees will hold up to a full season. I hope he is able to come back for his sake though. If so, that might open up a spot.
too soon to say that on Dee....

Re: WR Eldridge Massington Updates

Not sure about Dee Hart and his recovery at this point, nothing has really been mentioned to my knowledge. If he's still on crutches, though, that is probably not a good sign considering he is about three months post-op right now.

Either way, though, a determination on a medical scholarship wouldn't come until next summer at the earliest, so Hart won't result in an early enrollment spot opening up.

It must be senility on my part, but I thought Dee Hart was running and practicing a few games ago. When did I take a mental nap?

Re: WR Eldridge Massington Updates

Foster is announcing on Friday, and now suddenly Massington plans his announcement for Saturday? Seems pretty apparent that Massington is the back-up scenario for us in case things fall through with Foster.

OTOH, though, you have to imagine the staff feels at least somewhat hopeful with Foster or they wouldn't be having Massington hold back. In any event, I don't think there is any real doubt now that Massington is ours if we want him.

That's always comforting. EM is a tremendous player on his own. If he's willing to wait, that shows what a draw our program has become. I'll be very happy if we get either player.

TIFWIW, My info was from my neice who is a student at UA. She said she saw him on crutches about a week ago. She knows most of the players. The football players come into the office where she is a student worker regularly.

Re: WR Eldridge Massington Updates

Dee Hart was on a stationary bike at practice today...moving on to Massington.

Massington said his two finalists were Alabama and UCLA dropping Arizona St. The ESPN article also stated that both schools were ready to take him as an EE (though I would say that may be hinged on Robert Foster Friday...I hope it's not). His biggest sale on Bama was how hard the teams works. If he has that type of work ethic, and the possible talent...I would hate to pass on him.

Ugh!!!! I was hoping we would take both. Foster is even more important now.

For him to commit to UCLA, I think we can have a good feeling about Foster.

I hope... I really, really hope this is a good sign. I am worried EM just weighed his options and decided to commit to UCLA
because the offer wasn't contingent on what another player did. If we miss out on two top receiver prospects, obviously it doesn't damage us...but it will leave a major void in this class.

Eh, hope this is a good sign on Foster, but I'm afraid this sudden UCLA decision by Massington has taken a lot of people by surprise, myself included.

If Foster commits to Pitt this Friday, we're going to have to scramble a bit at WR.

I agree. Massington suppossedly was going to commit on Saturday after Foster but now he does it on Wed. Thinking the staff told him we did not have a place for him (either as a EE or WR).

or he just decided UCLA was the place he really wanted to be ; )

either way, EM is a big pickup for us. Twelve months ago, not only would this have never happened, we weren't even in the discussion.
