Why doesn't this board exist year-round? I mean, I understand that are really dead periods of the year where there really wouldn't be that much news, but the same holds true for several of the boards you see on the left-hand margin.

Take the Baseball board for instance. I have absolutely nothing against baseball, and it's a happening board during the season. But there only about 5-6 posts a month offseason.

Recruiting is almost year-round, and I'm sure some of us zealots could ask/post more than 5 or 6 things a month year round. :biggrin2:

So come on guys/gals, tell me what you think! :conf3:

Mods, you may even want to sticky this to the top. I swear it won't generate more work for you guys throughout the year! ;)

This is one of my pet peeves being a Bama fan. The correct spelling is "Yea" or Nay just like Yea Alabama! I know I am anal but it is my job to keep it real on the board. The edit function works nicely. ;)

If a board is left up, it would be understandable for the # of days threads are available to be dramatically shortened between spring practice and fall camp.

It would also be nice to have a website that one could go to and look at these potential recruits and even one for walk-ons. I have seen other Div 1 schools with such boards and they are very well done and they don't cost a thing. I'll see if I can't find the UF non-official website that had walk-ons and future recruits.

Is that a hint? ;)

What about "Yay, I get to go edit my post because some guy is anal!"

Is that more of a proper use?

"Yeah."

well Marion-Webster says yeah is yes but does not have anything that says it is yea. You must be an engineer. I had a boss that said "you know if they are a good engineer if they can't spell". Engineers can do complex calcs all day long without a mistake but just can't spell. Darn I would have made a great engineer!!!! :biggrin2:

Nah! I'm an engineer wannabe. I'm a network engineer, which means I'm a computer geek. And by the way, I'm an excellent speller, but my grammatics leave something to be desired. I leave out words when I get in a hurry. It gets me in trouble sometimes... :)

To get away from...

the spelling issue, we have tried leaving the RB up after NSD before, and the number of visits goes to zero - less even than baseball or the other less-visited boards. IOW, one more board people click on futilely. For there to be a walkon/future prospect board, someone's going to have to a lot of work. And being the cynical skeptic that 66 years on this old earth have led me to be, I'd bet some of the "full-time" proponents on this board will not click on it once in June... :D

Well, I for one would visit. 21 "yea"s to 2 "nay"s so far. More than 9 out of 10 say it would be nice. I'm guessing the 2 nays were Mods. :eek2:

The board I saw was not of the fan to click and write but more of the BOL or BamaMag type. There were articles and such. they even had a list of suscess storys of walk-ons. From reading this board it was nothing more than fan based creators. They even had pictures for someone like me. ;) You are older than me and I deal with people in their 50's that are scared of new tech. Kid's these days embrace new tech and push it further. As much as I hate to say it, to recruit in this day and age it helps to be on the cutting edge. These kids want to see themselves on the net as we may have wanted to see ourselves on TV.

I voted yay or yea or something, but...

upon further review, I think that it works pretty good to combine the football and recruiting boards during the "off season". That keeps a good flow of traffic on the board and probably simplifies the operation.

Whether or not...

this board becomes permanent will not be decided by this or any other poll. It will be decided by demand only. When we reach the point there is a post every 4-5 days (what's happened in the past), then it'll be combined until recruiting becomes "hot" again. IOW, don't lobby me now. Post in April, May and June, and I'll listen... :D

Well, if results mean nothing in the way of "demand", I guess this poll was useless. Please delete. It was worth the good junior college try. Thanks! :frown:
