My wife has a couple of these plants - Thanksgiving and Christmas, IIRC - in our screened lanai. They seem to be in a sweet spot for sun and water because they are massive plants now and quite beautiful. My latest foray into the world of gardening is "Holiday Cactus".
Meaning Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter Cactus....all different species and genera depending on who is doing the nomenclature.
I decided to set the nomenclature aside for now and focus on what varieties I am growing....and their flower color. Easier that way!
I have the Thanksgiving Cactus that was in Mom's assisted living room, given to her by a family member. It's been blooming nicely. But I also purchased some unrooted cuttings and some rooted cuttings....all different varieties.
The more I'm around people the more I like my plants!

There was a blizzard warning east of Houston over into the Lake Charles area this morning. First time for one of these on the Gulf Coast.
The weather folks have shown a big for us snowfall in 1960. The record is 20 inches in 1896.We lived in Pasadena (TX) late fifties/early sixties. Somewhere in that time period there came a big snow. I was told later that it was a big deal for that area. I had no reference, but my memory is that it came up to my 3 year old knees.![]()
and that is an all natural shot with no filters or anything. My goodness, I’m even impressed by it days later.Outstanding shot.
I've photographed that tower on several occasions over the past 25 years or so, but I've never managed a shot like that. Well done. .![]()
