This morning I walked by 2 smaller ponds in a newer section and both had smaller alligators lounging on the banks. I sure hope the new residents of close homes know to just avoid them.

My friend's daughter teaches surfing lessons......she was in the water with a few students on the first pass headed south. Now done headed back to the hacienda!

A good friend who is head of The Ecology Department at the Federal University in the state of Rio Grande Do Sul in Porte Alegre, Brazil. We have been working for months to update his department with new Apple Equipment and are nearly over the finish line. San Joaguin National Park will be a site for a grassland study to explore the impacts of intensive farming, herbicides, fire and global warming on the native grasslands of Brazil.

I spent quite a bit of time in Florianapolis, Porto Alegre, Sao Paulo and smaller cities around southern Brazil. Really beautiful places to travel and many very open and friendly people there. The large ranches, fazendas, are remote and beautiful. Like going back in time! If I was a younger man I would head there to live.

Now that May has arrived - it's time to get serious about planning to get things done before we really get into the oppressive heat, humidity, and bugs.

Little front moving through so next 2 days will be decent conditions but with the overcast weather today and opening in my schedule I wanted to get a jump start on things so got up on a ladder and took off the remaining dead Coconut Palm fronds and misc bloom/fruit stalks on my 3 Coconut Palms.

I'm very happy to report so far it looks like all 3 of my Coconut Palms are going to pull through!

Here is one I pruned today and the fiberglass extension ladder I chose to use for all 3 palms, which worked out fantastic. Nothing like having the right ladder for a job!

Got some more pruning done on other stuff and will keep chipping away on it through the next few days.

No photos today of re-charging the Silverado's AC but from yesterday trimmed off the dead fronds on these 2 Foxtail Palms at a customers place that were damaged by the freeze. Both have new green shoots emerging so happy about that.



Here's a pic of what they looked like about 2 years ago. Going to be at least a year for them to fill back out again.....

Accident on the South Causeway this morning. No idea what happened. Cinder blocks and trailer involved.

Entire east bound lane closed off. Fortunately I was heading west. I came back home on the North Causeway with zero delays.
