YoutubeTV caved to ViacomCBS and agreed to bundle all the worthless old Viacom channels in order to have CBS. Now they are increasing prices $15/mo to $65. That is back to the cost of cable. Any of you guys YoutubeTV customers? Are you planning on going elsewhere now?

I saw this yesterday and was disappointed, but it is still cheaper than my last cable bill so I am going to stick with them.

I may have to try the entire Hulu package then. We have the non live one or something like that. My son watches it when he is away for school.
The live one comes with Amazon Prime+ ESPN+ and + DIsney+ Bundles as well. I think YouTube’s biggest draw was pricing over Hulu, but had less Sports channels. But if YouTube is raising prices then it probably is best to go to Hulu if you live more Sports and News with other perks. I think the biggest drawback with Hulu comes with if you are a big DVR person.

Personally I think you get more out of Hulu than YouTube TV personally.
Just Hulu? Or Hulu with live streaming? Hulu with live streaming looked similar in cost once you add the DVR feature.

This whole thing sucks. We watch maybe 8 channels. DVR is pretty much a must with small kids. We only have an hour or so to veg out a night an watch something recorded. We also have Netflix, Prime TV, and HBO Go included with our cell phone plan. Seems a little silly with those 3 to pay $65/mo for YoutubeTV.

We plan to look hard at other alternatives. I find myself increasingly unhappy with YouTubeTV's navigation and don't find it reasonable to pay for a multitude of channels I would never watch. Looking at breaking out the antenna for the networks and a way to watch ESPN, Netflix and a few other premium services. Google has doubled prices in three years and they just made it uneconomical to continue with them.

ViacomCBS can go pound sand for all I care. Looks like I'm going to be switching to Hulu + Live TV just to prove a point. I can deal with only 50hrs DVR time which looks to be the main difference.

It really depends on what service is better for you personally. If OnDemand, more sports, and more News The HuluLive is probably better for you. If more local channels and more DVR space the YouTube is probably better. Personally if DirectTV didn’t constantly crap out or change my bill drastically Change after my 1 year of free and discounted stuff Then I would probably be going with them.

I had Youtube, but just switched to Hulu after that price increase. Their more-limited DVR is enough for me, and you get additional Hulu content for essentially the same cost. This isn't the first time Google has increased the price in the past year, and I have no confidence that they won't do it again.

I signed up for youtubetv for football season and then tried to cancel it after only to have the wife stop me as she and the kids actually use it. I don't. I am going to try to use this price increase as the reason to kill it now. Especially as I don't see there being a football season this year

You could always keep Hulu just kill the HuluLive. Hulu has a ton of programming that you don't need the live version. I have been thinking of cancelling the live version, but I have already been charged this month. If there is no sports, there is no reason to have the live version.

Well hell. I started a thread on this in the non politics/non religion board. Any reason this was started on this board. We expecting it to get political or are there religious undertones I'm not picking up on?
Sorry started it here because I don't really go over to the other NS board much at all. If we want to make this one political, we can blame the FCC in this one because it is all their fault they wont' force stations to unbundle all the trash channels and let us buy a la cart.

What's up with HBOGO? I see they are ending their streaming on July 31 and HBOMAX is taking over. I searched for the app in the app store and it looks like I would need to purchase the app. It said something about in app purchases.

Essentially HBO is looking to charge even people who already pay for their monthly service more money to stream their content. I will probably drop HBO as a result.

ETA: HBO is ending HBO Go, renaming HBO Now since HBO Max is live

If you have HBONOW then it automatically changes over to Max with no additional charge. For HBOGO I think you will have to switch over. HBO has always been weird on their streaming services.

Anyone with ATT for cell phones should check their wireless plan. We have been on one of the old unlimited plans forever and had HBO GO included with that. I didn't even know until last year.
