re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

Hi! and thanks! I read all the time to keep up with the latest recruiting information but thought it was time to actually participate. I can't believe how caught up I have become in the whole process. I find myself hoping like everyone else that we keep Trent and land the other big names that are expected to sign with us. In all the excitement, I try to remind myself that the master planner, CNS, has it all worked out. If we lose somebody, he will know what to do. (ex. Hiring Willis to replace Thompson). Thanks for all the informative posts. I have truly enjoyed reading them all.

In Nick Saban I trust.

Frankly, this is the most relaxed I have been in several recruiting years. Isn't it great to have a head coach that you know is going to deliver on signing day!

They call me all the time, send me flowers, show up to my high school games and track meets, and are just generally coming across as overly desperate. You know; a guy likes to have the door held for him and stuff like that, but they want me to do weird stuff like calling them when I get home to 'make sure I made it in alright' and always dissecting everything I say to my other friends in order to find hidden meanings.
I know they mean well and they really are nice guys, but they are just trying to move this relationship along too fast. We should be in the early stages of getting to know each other, but they are really pressuring me to make a commitment to them before I technically can.
My mistake was letting them force me into saying some things I may not have meant early on. Now that I want to play the field and see what else might be out there, they're acting as if I'm leading them on...which is not my intention.
I really like Alabama and would love to spend my college career there, but the desperation is making me uneasy."

Has anyone else seen or heard this? I think he's full of it, but I'd like to make sure. If this is true, that doesn't sound good.

I'm am going to have to call BS on this one. Could be from Trent, but I tend to doubt that.

File under: Parody.

Which then is kindof funny, actually.

I think you might have misfiled it under: Actual Quote.

That was actually something that was started by a "Bama fan" over on the TideSports message board yesterday.

It was clearly a troll piece and completely made up, but of course it has made the rounds on the Internet, and of course some idiot LSU and Florida fans have taken it as true. It's not... it's completely fabricated, and quite honestly a shoddy fabrication at that.

That makes me feel much better. I'm surrounded by LSU fans, and that is the last team I would want to lose him to.

Yes BigEasy, you are correct. That guy also started one on RR and he is getting worked over pretty good by TS Mods and posters. As far as TR's comments regarding LSU and UF, I think it's just drama related. I mean, if there was not a little intrigue then why have 3 hats on the table. Wouldn't be any reason for the drum roll.

there was a report from an alleged LSU recruiting insider on the radio this morning that richardson de-committed today

take it for what its worth...probably not a whole lot
Unsubtantiated laughable rumors are not worth anything on Tide Fans. I ask you not to post anymore, especially from any alleged LSU recruiting insiders. lol

I would say it ain't even worth a penny. If that would have happened, that would pretty much be one of the biggest stories of the day. Rivals, Scout, Tide Sports and others would have been ALL OVER IT. (smile)

re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

Well first off OBVIOUSLY Trent didn't de-commit. Second, LSU homer Dandy Don says he believes if LSU signs RR then they will sign TR as well. I think he is about as naive as the Barners who think if they get Randle to campus they have a shot. Fact of the matter is, if he was going to go anywhere besides Bama it would be UF and even the Florida homers think he is going to Bama. Game, set, match.

I'm gonna say this re; T.R. The same person who told me last yr. that Julio was coming, and he would know, told me today that it is the same with Trent. He's ours. If he turns out wrong,I'll kill him! LOL! But i don't think he is.

re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

Despite 'Bama commit teams still courting Richardson
The nation's top running back, Trent Richardson (Pensacola, Fla./Pensacola), has been firmly committed to Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide for a long time.

Despite constant overtures from other programs and some flirtation on his part, Richardson, who committed to the Tide back in June, hasn't wavered. His firm stance doesn't mean that Alabama won't have to sweat it out until signing day (Feb. 4). The Tide seemingly dodged the first bullet this past weekend.

re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

Trent: If you are reading this -- I've seen you play, and your style, your timing, will fit right in where Coffee left off, except you probably are stronger in the upper body than Coffee and you have a lower center of gravity. You hit the hole quickly like he did, and like him, all you need is a good whack by a couple or three of your linemen, and you're through the hole and into the secondary. You follow your pads like Coffee did, you are a straightaway runner like he was. This means that you are less likely to get a leg injury than backs who lead with their legs and do a lot of juking. Saban knows all this and he wants you. We want you. You will gain boucoups yards at Bama. The table is already set.

Wishful thinking. You guys have less of a chance of flipping Trent than Florida does IMO.

A few days ago you might have me a little worried but people like BET, LCN and CS have hardened my mind on rumors like this......and I will take your advice (take it for its worth) which is nil......TR to Bama on 4 Feb, mark your LSU calendar and prepare yourself for disappointment:)
