According to Rivials, Ole Miss now has 37 commitments. That is a lot.
Yeah it's pretty ridiculous. I know we got ridiculed last year for 32 and we defended ourselves, but 37 doesn't even make sense. That means over 1/3rd of their class wont be there next year.

They have 38 according to clarion ledger but say some will end up in juco and some will be gray shirts. I know of one more personally that they will sign next week as a gray shirt too

Grey shirts, from what I've heard.

Nutt managed to get most of his class in school last year, unlike his two predecessors (Orgeron and Cutcliffe), who would sign a whole crop of 4 star athletes with marginal grades/ACTs only to have them not get in school.

That sounds vaguely familiar...Dubose/Cotrell comes to mind.

You know what, I don't know if I'm the only one, but when Drummond picked Ole Miss I was a little suspicious but I just chalked it up to sour grapes that he didn't pick with us and there was just something about Ole Miss he loved. But after today, our staff never even sent Patterson papers because they possibly pulled out of the running so as to keep their hands clean from the mess that Ole Miss was digging themselves into and of course there is Massie. A lot of rumblings that Saban is ticked and the our compliance staff warned Ole Miss and they didn't stop so the SEC and NCAA have been notified. Mod's I am sorry if I went to far with this post, delete it if you wish, but I think this needs to be out there so we know what kind of situation we are dealing with. I am tired of Bama getting slammed and nothing happening to other schools with they commit completely heinous violations.

Now that my rant is over. The class turned out great. Very bright future. Roll Tide Roll.

:BigA: Ole Miss with 37 recruits and only ranked #17 with 37 recruits does not sound very impressive for their recruits or their coach! Does anyone think this is impressive? I heard Massie did not even visit the Ole Miss campus!! Does anyone know if this is true? If it is Ole Miss needs to be investigated by the Nazis!!! I am wondering if Massie is not a little bit sick of his decision! We may not have had the room for him by the signing of our other top recruits!!!

I just got an email from a friend in Jackson who is echoing what some are saying here. OM is playing fast and loose with the recruits. It will come back to haunt them soon.

I was just listening to the rocket out of Pensacola. They were talking about Ole Miss being turned in according to them and their sources inside the SEC noone has turned anyone in. Supposedly a rumor started on a Mississippi board.

Who knows. I don't much care when we can bring in #1 two years in a row and 3 years in the top 10.

Still 37 is alot lol.

I talked to several influential Ole Miss alumni today here in South Mississippi.

They told me Massie told Nutt four weeks ago that he was planning on signing with them, but ask him not to say anything. I seriously doubt that.

The Drummond kid is a total impossibility. We were extremely hot on this kid early.
It's not even within the realm of reality that a Chicago kid gives Ole Miss a chance, and Bama none, unless unseen variables were present.
No way. Houston Nutt's not Nick Saban. His weakness has been in recruiting. Barack Obama is from Chicago and I don't think he could have convinced this young man to go to Oxford to simply get an education while playing football.

I know we're disappointed that we didnt get Patterson, but this is a blessing.

One, he's not going to qualify.

Two, and I haven't said anything about this, because I was scared to death. Norwood had told his coach and my workout bud Coach Singleton that he wouldn't go to Bama if Patterson did. It wasn't the fear of competition.
Kevin faced Patterson in the state championship game and thought he was a trash talking thug.

When I saw Norwoods LOI I jumped for joy! But I knew then Patterson was going to Ole Miss.

I promise. Norwood's a better person, student, leader, and player.

I'm not sure what Nutt's up to, but yeah, there's a bunch of question marks.

If you have to sign 37 to get 25.....that's glaring proof that you're more interested in getting athletes rather than student athletes, and that shows a lack of emphasis on character.

Can't win the SEC without character in your players. Never has happened and never will.

So they signed 37 to maybe get 25 that qualify out of it? How intelligent do you have to be to qualify at Ole Miss? Geez.

Sure does look like Ole Miss thinks this is the NFL and they are trying to blow the salary cap.

buck & the jackass kincaid on 680 in atl interviewed h nutt. the buck brings up the massie signing, houston is proud. right after that buck changes the subject to bama and saban. he didnt say anything negative but you could hear the resentment in nutts voice. bama is a sore spot with nutt and we are seeing why. this will be intresting to watch down the road.
