Don't know much about him but he seems to have good speed and size for a WR and he may grow a bit.

Being raised in a football family can be a big plus. You have the advantage of learning the game, from an insightful perspective, at a very young age. If his on the field talent is there, I think his football maturity should be somewhat advanced.

He seems to be a very good athlete, but I'm not sure where he fits as far as a reciever is concerned. As someone has already mentioned, this is a very deep reciever class for 2010. For Alabama personally, they will be very selective at the reciever position for this class. We may actually pass on two legacies because of that (Caleb Castille and Maudrecus Humphrey), although I hope we can find a spot for them.

My high school team played his team in the playoffs this year. Their offense is really good. He's definitely talented

I'd be highly surprised if we found a spot for either one of the two, barring a monster season season and camp circuit performance. We just have so many guys ahead of them that we would have to miss on a lot of guys just to possibly put them into play as legitimate possibilities.

I've written on it before, and those two are Shula guys... if he were still here, they would 'Bama locks. But with Saban, though, we can just get a lot better prospects.

I've seen this kid a few times and he can flat out motor, plus he's pretty strong as well. Understand, Mount Olive is a teeny school so he's not surrounded by great talent in a supporting role. Vice versa he's not playing elite competition either. But from watching him I say we should go hard after him, one because of his ability, and two because of his Daddy. The publicity could only help us.

I thought he had transferred to Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg. My sister teaches down there and said he plays ball there now.

He is at Oak Grove
Yep. Transferred here (OG which is in Hattiesburg) before last year. They run a wide-open spread that passes it a zillion times a game and is pretty effective. I hear a lot about him from the locals; haven't seen him play yet though.

(semi-hijack: OG is at the HS level what TxTech is at the college level. All O, very little D. And as was true in the Cotton Bowl w/ Tech, when OG plays a team with an actual defense--especially a physical team w/ an actual defense, Oak Grove loses. semi-hijack ends)

The texas tech comparison is pretty right. Their offense is incredible. The QB and WRs are on the same page and its really tough to shut down their passing offense. But their D wasn't too great. We busted a couple big runs on them.

Do they still have the same head coach that came from Petal a few years back? I don't remember him runnning that at Petal.

Yeah. Neville Barr. He's also coached at other schools around here before Petal. I don't know when he went to the all-pass version of the spread, but he's sure there now. He's apparently a good guy who is loved by his players from what I hear. OG has always had the athletes; but only in recent years have they come out for football. Previously, it was all baseball (they have been a *huge* baseball powerhouse for years & years now).

Apparently, OG has other talent besides McNair this year, although lack of morning coffee has fogged my memory as to who the other studs are...;)
