CB Demarcus Milliner to announce Thursday, June 4th at 1:00 p.m.

Scout.com is in the process of updating their rankings -- should be finished sometime this week -- and they now have Milliner as a five-star prospect and the #1 cornerback in the country.

This is going to be an absolutely huge commitment when we get him in the next few months. He may very well the top prospect in the 2010 class, and that's really saying something.

Not really, but it's just become the more and more consensus opinion that it's only a matter of time before Milliner commits to us. His head coach is a former 'Bama player -- with a ring, too -- and he's leaning our way.

Besides, I figure the smart money is that he stays in-state, and he didn't even bother to show up for the Big Barner Blowout. What does that tell you?

Well, he might wait 'til NSD, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be long in the bag before then, just like last year with Dre Kirkpatrick. And, actually, some are legitimately hoping that he might make a decision before the end of summer.

In any event, regardless of when, he is widely expected to end up at Alabama, and that's all that counts.

From what I am hearing Milliner's decision could come any time between this week and the end of summer.

Usually what you say is like golden to me, but I thought Dre said he was leaning to Texas if 'Lil Man wasn't keeping him closer to home. I'm just glad he found a hat with swagger. :BigA:

That's obviously huge news, no doubt about it. I would be extremely surprised if he chose anyone but Alabama.

Well, Dre's son certainly helped our cause, but it's not like he came along the night before NSD. No doubt that Dre liked Texas -- and with good reason, it's a fine program at a great university in a great town -- but it was just too far away for him, and that was always the case.

Like I said, Dre had long been in the bag before NSD rolled around.

How many fly patterns, long outs, or short outs would that mean that are returned in a season, some for TD's?

His uncle said today that it will be for Bama on thursday. He got the call fromm Demarcus about 11am this morning.

you have to think that this was orchestrated by coach. i mean, you're hearing all this hooblah about the big cat weekend on the radio and on the internet, only to have the state's top prospect commit to Bama in a matter of days. i know Milliner wasn't in attendance but i don't think we'll be hearing too much about Auburn's pathetic recruiting attempts come Thursday.

1) no running the ball up the middle
2) no throwing the ball to either sideline

I like how we are systematically taking away entire facets of the opposing teams offense.
