normally, I HATE the BCSCG because it's on a work/school night and doesn't end until late. Plus, we haven't been in it, so I generally watch the first half and hit the rack.

So what are you going to do? Are you hosting a party? Are you going to a party? will you watch it at home in relative quiet due a spouse or child who has to get up early? Are you taking a vacation day on Friday so you can get soaked and sleep off the victory celebration?

Me? I think I'm taking Friday off. Don't know yet if I'm going to go to a bar, a friend's house, or keep it down home, cuz. If I watch it at home, I may have to send the kid to the mother-in-law's house since she goes to bed at 7:30. But, my wife has mentioned having my MIL over and the three of us whip up some good foods and drinks and watch it together. Not a bad idea, but I'll have to go in the garage and watch if the kid is here.

We are going to have a cookout/football party. I have invited about 15 Bama fans (one Texas fan) and some family members over for the game. Should be a good time

We're having about 20-25 people over for some good chili, homemade buffalo wings, some gumbo, and beverages (adult and otherwise). Gettin' a new LCD to view the game in a freshly remodeled den!

I'm ready! Let's make hamburger out of Longhorns!

either of y'all taking Friday off?

Well I believe in Mojo. I put up a Roll Tide Sign over the TV before the SEC title game. I invited over a fellow bama fan and his wife. Since it worked for the SECCG they are coming for BCS game as well. I will wear the same Bama sweatshirt. Oh yea, the sign is staying up until Jan 8th. I did take that day off from work as well.

I only watch football with my wife, my brother, and his wife. I just can't handle big groups of people making stupid comments while I watch Alabama football. Sounds harsh, but that's the way I am. With that said I'm gonna take my wife and kids over there and let my kids play with their cousins and we're gonna grill some steaks. Gotta put Bevo on the grill for this one!

It's going to be the crowded house thing again so I have been thinking along the lines of chopping up a brisket for some BBQ beef sandwiches, big pot of chili, chips -N-salsa and some deer link sausage with mustard dipping sauce. Cold Mexican beer and the Margarita machine for drinks.

4 Texas fans
6 Bama fans
4 LSU fans

Should I be expecting a invitation in the mail?

Man, I thought I was the only one. There are three people in the world I can watch a Bama game with. My mom, a close friend of mine from high school, and my wife, though I still get aggravated with her occasionally. ('Why do they run up the middle every time? Thats where everyone is!' :willy_nilly:)
I guess its no surprise that each of them attended their first game with me. I had to talk my mom into it because she is really the quiet type but finally she went to the Arkansas St game with me last year. She loved it. When I got back to my house I saw Texas lose to Texas Tech so I sent her a text that she probably just watched the #1 team in the country. And they were. I took my wife to her first game at the '04 opener against Utah St. And my friend and I took in our first game together right after 9/11 against Arkansas in '01. It never gets old! :hurray:

Anyway, for the OP, I took Thursday and Friday off and will probably watch from my lucky seat with my wife here at home. :)

I'm taking Thursday and Friday off. I would be a worthless employee on Thursday. And Friday? My company knows better than to expect productivity from me on January 8th, 2010...

let me just put your address into Google maps and I'll plan my trip.......

Well; couple of things:

One; I am taking off Thursday and Friday from work

Two; My highschool age kids will be off Thursday at 12 noon and all day Friday (Dad's decision).

As for the game/party: Living in Dallas as we get closer to game time it will be very interesting around my neighborhood. Having said that; pre game party starts early on Thursday around 12 noon; party at my house with 6-10 huge Bama fans; and of course a couple Texas fans (friends of my kids)
Wonder if their parents will actually let them come over?

RTR!!!!

Am I the only one who can't watch a game with anybody else??? I'm not anti-social, but when it comes to Bama football, it's just me, my dog, and my wife (in the other room :)).

Already have the following day off, I made sure of that about a week ago. I will be at my buddies place with my family watching the game. We always have a blast. I expect a great game and a great environment

man, it really is a small world...i'll do the same w/ the wife and dog in the luxury of the warm house and me out in the garage watching it on my LCD beside the fridge full of beer!!!! life doesn't get any better....RTR

Unfortunately it is on a work night so that will limit any partying with friends. I'll just watch it in my family room as usual with my insulated Bama mug filled with rum & coke.
I wonder why it was scheduled for Thursday and not Friday. Maybe a larger audience??
