Nice beaches in Galveston?????????? Well, my wife says there are a few, but you really have to look for them. Nope, it will make you appreciate our Gulf Coast more.

Houston stinks, literally. Austin is full of left-wing commie pinko weirdo types. They even have a slogan "Keep Austin Strange", or something like that.

The gals are only pretty because they spend more money making themselves look that way. And boy, do they spend money in Dallas.

And it is too close to Oklahoma. And Lousy-anna.

Other than that, I love this place!

Kinky Freidman.

A football tradition that I respect and appreciate.

I have heard that Austin is full of liberals and wants to stay strange. To me that is a good thing. :)

Maybe Matagorda Island, or Port Aransas and SPI. They do have decent sand beaches there (Mustang Island, too, but usually sand wasn't what you would look at there...;))
Actually, 10 miles from the coast inland, Texas is aaaaight.
They do have "Austin City Limits", which is one of my all-time faves.

Good un, I forgot I left one there about 35 years ago. (Houston)
One of those three was the "one that got away"...but I'm a seafarer and she wanted a cowboy. I tried to change, and believe me, she was worth it...but you are what you are and you ain't what you ain't...

They're going to learn a thing or two about football on January 7. I don't know if that's a good thing for them though.

A lot of Southerners migrated on over to what is now Texas, so many that war with Mexico was the result.

Thr Hill Country of Texas is reputed to be one of the most beautiful areas in the country, with Bluebonnets and other flowers on the rolling countryside providing scenes for artists to paint. One of the greatest of such artists was Porfirio Salinas.

West Texas, once you near New Mexico, begins to feature those beautiful buttes that lie on the plains. Some of these promontories are part of Indian legend.

The greatest thing about Texas may be the countryside that gave the cowboy and then the bike rider after him a feeling of endless freedom.
