A friend at work brought me this photo the other day. One of her family members found a camera under a seat of an old abandoned car. They took the camera and had the pictures developed and one of them happened to be of Coach Bear Bryant on hunting trip. I thought I would share this picture with everyone.

I bought a couple of similar pics for my dad....Coach Bryant and Coach Dye on a hunting trip. One is of them walking and one is of them at a table in a cabin next to a fire.

well the story isn't quite accurate, there were several pictures taken that day of CPB and Dye and they have been posted all over the internet for years, I have the others on my hard drive somewhere

Yeah, I seriously doubt that a camera was found under the seat of a car and just happened to have pictures of Bryant in them.

I can't defend the story… it was just what I was told. The picture quality isn't as good as the others posted in this thread. That would make me believe that it may have come from a different camera. Who's to say that this particular camera wasn't lost? Anyway I just thought it was a neat picture and wanted to share it.

Those same pictures are hanging in just about every decent BBQ restaurant within the state of Alabama.

That's funny about the camera in the car seat. Maybe someone took a photo of a picture hanging in a restaurant?!?

Actually they were taken by a now-retired BHM News staff photographer I think in the late 70s. He's a great friend of my wife's family; I'm very proud to have copies made from the original negatives in my Bama basement. It was a rabbit hunting trip in West AL and the three photos that are famous are the coaches eating breakfast, walking on the trail, and standing there holding their rifles.

LOL @ "my friend found this pic in a camera under a seat in the car".
I have it on good word that this is 100% true and the camera was found with a recording of a phone conversation between Coach Bryant and Wally Butts. The recording was purchased by the Saturday Evening Post. Apparently it contains audio of Coach Butts giving tips to Coach Bryant on his secret BBQ recipe. The Post plans a feature on possible violations during a 1963 cook-off CPB participated in.
