He certainly seems to have the credentials to be a big time coach someday, if that is what he wants...
That would be a good question with Dooley. He is also the AD at La Tech, so he isn't going to be on the hot seat really (at least according to Barbara).

I think he probably wised up to the fact that, if he didn't meet Ole Miss expectations, he probably wouldn't meet expectations in Vol Nation.

I looked at his staff and saw familiar names from his staff at Ole Miss.

Tennessee fans just dodged a bullet. He would have insured several years of mediocrity in Knoxville.

Gruden? Nope.
Muschamp? Nope.
Calhoun? Nope.
Cutcliffe? Nope.
I just think back to four years ago when we went:

Spurrier? Nope
RichRod? Nope
Saban? Yup.

REALLY hope they don't find a way to pull a rabbit out of their hat. Not sure what rabbits might be out there at this point (Peterson?) but I was going to be VERY happy with a Cutcliffe hire....

Yep, he's staying at Duke. Good for him. He would have been a puppet anyway and I think he knew that.

Soooo. After a DC, the HC of Air Force and Duke turn you down .. exactly where do you go?

Well I guess there's still names like Stoops and Gruden they are throwing around over there on the Vol Forums.

I think they coined the phrase it doesn't get any better than this for this year alone!

I think I remember reading something in the good book that you reap what you sow. I think that's exactly what is happening to UT, and like I said above I have very little if any sympathy for them.

TN may eventually get a big name coach, but the embarrassment of being turned down and the publicity is priceless. I am enjoying this while I can. :D

I say we send Alasippi, LCN, or Bayoutider up there as a double agent. They can rake in a good income, hire a few other double agents for staff, and teach the young Volunteers how to run the quintuple-option-without-a-quarterback offense and recruit 150-pound speed guys for the DL.

Right about now, I think Knoxville is desperate enough to bite.
