Mine was first game and first date. Third Saturday in October of 1953. Little girl and I rode the bus from Woodlawn to Legion Field. Nobody scored that day! 0-0 tie.

1970, Bama vs LSU at Legion Field. Bama made a good effort, but lost 14-9.

I think LSU was pretty highly rated, Bama had already lost 3 games and was on the way to a second straight 6 win season, adding a tie in the Bluebonnet Bowl. More than a few people were questioning whether the game had passed Coach Bryant by.

The next year, however, would be the start of another golden era at Bama.

1995 North Texas State as they were known back then. We won an unspectacular game 38-19. I remember Brian Steger having a good day running the ball. But to me, it was just amazing to see Bryant-Denny and Tuscaloosa (and that was back when the stadium only had the West upper deck and sat 70,123). My dad and I went to the Bryant museum as well. It was a great Saturday afternoon.

I went to many games as a really young kid but the first game I actually remember was in 1996, Alabama vs. NC State in Raleigh. I told my dad that I was so impressed with the atmosphere and stadium etc and he new he had failed as an Alabama fan...so the next game he took me to was the 1996 iron bowl. Now that was impressive

1978 Alabama vs Virginia Tech at BDS. I just remember it seeming so big, and my dad pointing out the players and Coach Bryant. Talk about being a wide-eyed kid.

I still have every ticket stub for every game I attended. My dad was putting them in a scrap book. And as an adult I have continued that tradition.

I so far have every ticket stub for games my kids have attended.

Alabama vs Texas A&M in 1985 at Legion Field. Bama won 23-10. Craig Turner had a big run late in the game for a TD and Van Tiffin kicked a 57 yard FG going into the half.

Can't remember the year but it was late 50s. I think Bobby Skelton was QB. I was about 12 yrs old and saw Bama beat GA Tech by 3 pts on a last minute FG by one of the Sington Brothers. Can't remember if it was Fred or Dave.
Can anybody help me out with what year and which Sington brother would have kicked the game winner?

Sure as heck wasn't a team coached by Ears...

So that would make it 1959...Coach Bryant's first team. Not sure on who kicked the FG though. We won 9-7.

I think mine was against Wichita State in 1978 or 1979. I remember their QB's first name was Prince, we beat the heck out of them, and I was absolutely in awe seeing Coach Bryant in person.

Homecoming game in 1980. No. 1 ranked and two!time defending national champ Bama beat Southern Miss 42-7. The following week Bama lost at Miss State and would not be ranked no. 1 again during the regular season for 28 years. Man, that was a long stretch! It's good to be back where we belong!
