I went to many games as a really young kid but the first game I actually remember was in 1996, Alabama vs. NC State in Raleigh. I told my dad that I was so impressed with the atmosphere and stadium etc and he new he had failed as an Alabama fan...so the next game he took me to was the 1996 iron bowl. Now that was impressive

i remember that game. We almost lost to lowly rated nc state. Probably as many Bama fans as state fans. I was there as well. My first game was virginia tech, maybe 1974? Set a lot of records that day!

Mine was the 1979 game vs miami at Bryant Denny...Bama won 30-0..Steadman Shealy was qb ..Bama won national title that year to.I was 14 back then. What wonderful memories...:BigA::):):):):)
that was the game that made miami cancel the rest of the contract. Howard told coach Bryant he couldn't build a program taking a beating like that

My first game to see in person was 1987... Bill Curry's first season at Alabama. Legion Field, Southern Mississippi, we won 38-6, I loved it. Sometimes I still miss Legion Field.... yeah I know...another thread.

I think mine was against Wichita State in 1978 or 1979. I remember their QB's first name was Prince, we beat the heck out of them, and I was absolutely in awe seeing Coach Bryant in person.
My uncle played in that game for Wichita State. He later went to play in the USFL for the Oklahoma Outlaws and Chicago Blitz. He is so proud of playing in that game against Bama.

My first game in person was the game in BDS against Arkansas Sept. 22nd, 2001. It was the first game after 9/11 since they had postponed the games the previous weekend. It wasn't like I had an epiphany regarding the Tide during the game. I had been raised Crimson Tide my entire life. The experience just confirmed everything I thought and felt. And on top of that, the Stars and Stripes, the moment of silence for the victims, the National Anthem which everyone stood and sang turned a mere game into a moment and event that I won't ever forget. To say I had goose bumps would be an understatement. :patriot:

EDIT: By the way, Alabama rolled 31-10.

Bama at Vandy, 2002, My wife, then fiance`, got me two tickets from a Bama Alum she worked with. My dad, going for the underdog, routing for Vandy in the Bama section. It was great.

Can't wait to take my sons to their first game.

I remembered only the game and the score, not the year. But thanks to Wikipedia, I know it was September 29, 1990. 10 days shy of my 11th birthday. Dad took the clan up to T-Town from Andalusia to see the boys play Vanderbilt. Bama won 59-28. My most vivid memory is my father screaming all the way down I-65 about how poorly the defense was playing, and that he couldn't believe we gave up 28 points to Vanderbilt. Good times.

Bucky Berry had to kick at FG at the end to win it. Richard Todd was injured and did not play.
