and first of all want to say thanks for extending the invite to talk some football. Been reading this board for several years now and found it to be one of the more classy boards around. Good football talk by knowledgeable fans.

Now. My take on this weeks game.

While I certainly don't see this as an automatic Bama win, I think it will take a perfect gane with some breaks going our way to pull an upset. I think our offense will be able to put up some points but I have my doubts on how many opprtunities we will get with your team beiing able to hold the ball on long drawn out drives with your running game.

Should be a great atmosphere and I hope that if we are not able to pull an upset that we keep it respectable.

Many of us are very concerned that the strength of your offense-passing, plays right into the weakness of our defense-the secondary. We are not counting this one as an automatic win either. I am uneasy about this game myself. I have faith in our team that we will win, that our secondary will step it up. If they can find a way to take better angles on tackling and coverage, we will do well.

Our offense is very deadly and is more balanced than Arkansas's offense. Our defense might have a slight edge too, but the home team has won 5 of the last 6 in this series. This game will be an excellent gauge on how each team has progressed.

I am guessing 27-31 Alabama at this point, but we'll see.

I don't think any Bama fan who has an ounce of football knowledge can truthfully say this game will be a cakewalk. Arkansas will score on us. Luckily, I think our offense is so well-oiled right now they'll overwhelm your defense by the mid-3rd quarter, at the lastest.

That being said, if Arkansas plays lights-out, doesn't turn the ball over, and gets the breaks to go their way and if Alabama makes mistakes, Arkansas could pull the upset.

That's why they play the game.

From doing a little reading on the Hog boards, I'd say you're in the minority. there seems to be a lot of confidence over there. I guess this Saturday we'll see which team is better and it'll shed a little light on how good PSU is and how good UGA is...

This will be a tough game for the Tide and its young secondary. Mallett is a very good QB and our D must pressure him every time so he makes mistakes. Porky is going to score against us for sure, but I think GMac and friends will have enough fire power to outscore the Hogs. I just can't see the Hogs D stopping Ingram or Richardson or Lacy and if they do put 9 in the box, then GMac has Julio, Hanks, Maze, Dial, Williams, etc. to throw to. I expect the Razorback D Coordinator is not sleeping too well this week.

Well, thanks for busting my bubble, Staci - I was hoping for a shutout!

I'm been worried about this game from day one. My thought was our DBs would have to do a lot of maturing in the first 3 games, but I really thought our front 7 would be more dominant than they have been. But I hope we're improving, and I think that we get win #4, but it won't be easy. RTR!

The Hogs will have to get a running game going to have a chance. I was watching the "Bobby Petrino Show" last night and they did a segment on the O line. They said that Arkansas has the 2nd largest O line in the SEC. Didn't say whose was bigger (I suspect yours), but these guys are big and atletic. I really don't understand how they can't move people off the ball....Tennessee Tech, Louisiana Monroe and UGA. Not great defensive lines by any means.

I look for a long day against your D front. I hope we can run enough to keep your boys from pinning their ears back and coming after Mallett.

Well, our boys haven't been as aggressive into the pocket as we'd like. Even with Dareus back last week, we thought we'd see far more pressure on the QB than we got. Of course, we got spoiled by having Terrence Cody anchoring the middle of our line for two years and, now that he's gone, I realize just how fast Brandon Deaderick was when he was coming off the edge.

I believe we'll get it together on defense, but this is NOT last year's Bama defense. If anyone wants to take advantage of our inexperience, now is the time and Arkansas could be that team.

The running game is truly pathetic right now...we are big but, as a whole, probably the least athletic, slow afoot group I have seen in a long time. Scares me to think about this weekend....
