After Saturday's game maybe Nebraska will get a little revenge and Texas can start a list.

The kiss of death may be on Nebraska, I hear they may wear all red uniforms. Please say no to all red.

One reason Nebraska hates Texas is that Texas does not need to recruit outside the state of Texas to win.

Nebraska would not have a very good team if it had to recruit only Nebraska players. I have not looked at a Nebraska's roster lately, but I bet most of their PLAYERS are from outside Nebraska.

Kind of reminds you of going to the dentist.

"Do I have to?" lol!
Heh!

Pull for Texas? Ain't no way! Despite the ramifications, I just can't pull for that arrogant, despicable fan base. I hate everything Texas.
One more reason not to pull for Texas... They wear orange.!!! I get ya man, but the other posters were right. We need the 0 loss teams to "loss". Wouldn't it be great if they all lost this week?

I for one am not pulling for texas after the way they've acted. Let the chips fall where they may. Just like the "we need Auburn to win out so we can beat them in the iron bowl" talk. I want Auburn to go 0-12 every year. I get angry that no one seems to get a solid hit on Cam.

As a side note I refuse to let a select few color my opinion of everyone from that state, but I've never met a texan that I could get along with.

If we wanted to win it all again we should have beat SC. We didn't. No way I pull for Texas or the barn.

A young man was left a funeral parlor business by his uncle. After being in business a few months, the guy called his uncle.
"I have a problem and I need help."
Uncle says, "What's your problem?"
"This woman jast asked me to handle funeral arrangements for her husband. They just moved here from Texas."
Uncle says, "So, what's the problem?"
"Well, the guy is, like, 6'11'' and weighs about 450 lbs. I don't have a coffin that big."
Unlce says, "You said they were from Texas, right?"
"Yes."
Uncle says, "Well, that's no problem at all. Give the guy an enema and he will fit in a matchbox."

I think I may have posted this on here once before (maybe last year), with slightly different content, but the message is the same.

As a native Texan, I can tell you there's a large portion of the state that not only doesn't pull for the longhorns, but hates them. Don't judge all of us on the assumption we're all Texas fans.

Having said that, I'll be a Texas fan this weekend. Sorry, it's just business.

exiled, jr. & I went to a game in Lincoln a few years back (they played KU & cushed them). *Fantastic* game experience! By a long way, the most knowledgeable & classy & considerate fanbase I've encountered (including our own, btw).

Quick story: I wind up sitting next to a guy whose pa-in-law was an asst coach under Devaney for a bunch of years. He asks where I'm from & I said "MS". He starts praising the Grove @ Ole Miss; I tell him I'm from H'burg. He starts praising USM's "Nasty Bunch" defense (remember, this was a few years back, when USM actually still played defense... ;) ). I tell him I'm a Bama grad; he says "That's awesome! Were you there when Coach Bryant was still coaching?" I said I was. His voice got almost reverent: "Oh, man...that must have been an amazing experience! Tell me about it..." That sort of thing happened repeatedly, w/ them being very genuinely interested in us & in where we were from & where we went to school.

I had hugely-different sets of encounters w/ Horn fans.

Thus, we're gonna have to make it back to the NC game w/o ol' exiled cheering for the Horns against pretty much anyone, but esp. against the Huskers. Sorry!

@exiledNms: I agree with your assessment of the older Husker fans. They are absolutely some of the best! They are kinda confusing, tho. They act like good old Southern folk but talk like yankees! Memorial Stadium in Lincoln is well worth visiting for a game even if you are a fan of neither team.

My son took me up there last year for the OU-NU game and we sat about 90 rows up...not another Sooner fan within a quarter mile! Had a great time!:)
At halftime, they honoured players and coaches from the OU-NU past. Was really moving for an old man like me. Members from both teams received equal applause! That is a respect we rarely witness today...and may never again.

After we were in our seats (actually everybody was already standing), the ear shattering roar became almost painful. I looked at the scoreboard and it was 22 minutes before kickoff! :eek2::smile:

Uh-Oh, Off topic again! Top ten reasons Nebraska hates Texas? Can't answer that question on this message board. I like it here too well to get banned for inappropriate language!
