How far will Auburn fall in 2011? Their schedule and possible record.

I think they will win ten less games in '11. And that will be fun to watch, as will watching fewer and fewer goobs marching around every week in that hilarious orange and blue getup. I mean, is there nothing smaller than XXL in that stuff?

No way in hades! AU is going to field maybe the youngest roster for any major AQ program in the last 30 years next season. Seriously, they are set up to be a power down the road, but 2011 will be a humbling experience for them.

Im talking an entire team of underclassmen playing possibly the toughest road schedule in the nation. I think 6-6 would be an amazing coaching job and I dont give their coaches that much credit.

I see them 8-4. If the o-line plays better than we think and they knock off Arky or SC, the best case scenario I see is 9-3. Even if they struggle more than we expect, 6-6 is the worst I see them playing with Ut St, Clemson, Fl At, Ole Miss, & Samford being sure wins.

They could loose 8 games. Look at their schedule close. But with their luck, I will settle for a five loss regular season (definitely Bama and LSU beat them).......... RTR

9-3, or 8-4 depending on the USCe game or 7-5 if they lose to both USCe and UGA.

MSU-at home they probably beat MSU, but I'm not sure. Toss up.

Clemson-On the road, so toss up.

FL Atlantic W

USCe-Loss, and a bad one. Allbarn is the only team in the SEC that USCe has not beaten since joining the SEC. Given the close loss at AU last year and the SECCG humilation, this has revenge game written all over it, especially played at USCe. USCe by 3 TDs.

Arkansas L

UF-Toss up

LSU L

Ole Miss W

Samford W

UGA L-I like UGA in the east next year, CMR saves his job by getting to the SECCG and losing to Alabama.

Alabama L

So it will depend on how the Toss ups play out. At least 4 wins, but no more than 7. 4-8 on the low end, 7-5 on the high end.

Auburn should do very poorly next year, but the talk of Auburn being a power down the road confuses me. Just because you have talent doesn't mean that your going to win ball games, you need a solid coaching staff to nurture talent into a solid team. Outside of Gus, who do they have that can teach proper technique to their new players? It's obvious they aren't very disciplined, and that's just going to hurt them when they can't rely on an extremely talented player to save them every play.

I think the USC game will largely depend on which USC team shows up. I agree that it has blow out written all over it, but that's what worries me. Auburn would love to be able to say that they did what Bama couldn't do, they went in to Columbia and beat the Gamecocks. That honestly would make Auburn's year tolerable, no matter what the overall record is. I do like USC in that game, but I honestly believe that Auburn may have more motivation going into that game than people think.

True, but the decent USCe tends to show up for a game like that each season. College football is a very emotional game. Look what Alabama did to Florida in 09 under the pretense of revenge for 08. Yes, that is comparing apples to oranges, but it does point out the how emotions and hype effect games. Auburn will be able to say they did what Bama didn't do, when they fail to make it to a bowl game the year after winning the national championship. Ok, joking aside, I hear what you are saying, but they will probably spend that whole week game planning for the Iron Bowl.

Andre Ware said he thinks they will be the Texas of 2011. He read out the schedule, laughed, and predicted 4-8 lol

At first I was like whatevvvvver, but then I looked at their roster and seriously they dont have any upperclassmen - the whole team minus a few here and there is freshmen and sophomores. Its going to be like a JV team lol.

Man I still hate pinebox, but my hatred got a little less intense when I realized the state he left them in. Its like he completely skipped two years of recruiting or something. Assuming no attrition, they are only going to have nine scholarship seniors on the 2011 team and four of them I've never heard of. I literally cannot wait for 2011 - if nothing else to see them get their arses handed to them by the rest of the league.

Believe me, I could definitely see AU losing huge in that game. I just need to see some consistency from USC before I give them the benefit of the doubt. Also I think Auburn might be desperate by that point so I think they'll go in looking for a signature win. To me the game is a total toss up, dependant totally on who wants it more.

We all hate au but for the last couple of years all I've heard from Bama fans is gloom and doom for au. However, for the last two years au has a a record of 23-4, won two bowl games, beat us on our home turf and barely lost to our best team in history, and has won the sec and NC. Not to mention they have beat us 7 out of the last 9 games and we have only won once at T-Town.

Last year they had a great recruiting class and appear to be on track again this year. So I don't see au suffering any time soon.

So besides the fact we all wish the worst for au, do we really believe they will not be good for awhile?

And I'll tell you know, we'll face a big challenge next year getting a victory at their place. It will never be easy.

We need to beat them on the field consistently. The overall record in the Iron Bowl is getting too close for comfort.

This thread is not about the overall health of Auburn's program and an outlook on future seasons other than to look at NEXT YEAR.

They are losing 17 starters and key back up players to graduation and early entry into the draft. They take a hit at every key position except for running back.

On top of this fact, their schedule is as hard next year as it was easy this year.

Putting all that together, not even considering the black NCAA cloud hanging over their program, next year has the very real potential to by like Texas' season was this year...from the NC game the year before to not even making it to a bowl game.
