re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Barn fans are saying it is his parents, but the direct quote from him is HE FEELS it was the wrong decision. Also any recruit under the age of 21 needs a parent to sign a NLI.

If the player is 18 or over he can sign without a parent. The parent just has to sign if the player is uner 18. This is from parents of players

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn/ Reports are that he has not faxed his LOI in

I do know he has spoken with UA coach's.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I don't think his parents even made the trip with him to AU, that's probably one reason they were so shocked. They probably thought he was just coming down to take a visit, and to have fun. I think Cyrus was sold a bill of good by the AU staff, and probably promised the world. Maybe also they are smart enough to realize that the barn staff will tell recruits anything to get them to commit, and that they could be in major trouble with the NCAA before it's said and done.

I really don't think this is the type family that wouldn't sign the letter. Cyrus said he had big doubts. I could see them asking him to have a sit down with them.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn/ Reports are that he has not faxed his LOI in

I just hope the kid goes where HE wants to go. Many times kids feel so much pressure to travel a certain path and though on the surface the path seems logical it's not what the kid wants to do. No one knows WHY he said Auburn when most everyone anticipated Alabama. But ultimately I want him at the place HE wants to go. I definitely do not want him playing at Alabama knowing inside that is not where he really wanted to go.

He needs to be lined up with his brother and push the Auburn bull piles out of the way!

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Good luck to you Cyrus even though I think your decision making is not up to par. I do hope you don't regret this decision as I suspect the NCAA will be coming down hard on your college of choice sometime in the next year or so. I guess early playing time trumped a NC ring!

"ChaseGoodbread Chase Goodbread
The biggest shock of the day? After all the drama of the last three hours, haven't yet seen Cyrus Kouandjio's name spelled wrong on twitter."

Not true, 21 to sign a LOI without parent or guardian It came up in the Clowney thread, Tidewarrior posted the NCAA rule from the rule book

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

It's obvious now he was still suffering from the auburn visit hangover..I can only imagine all the things he was promised & all the you will be the best O-Lineman as soon as you sign the LOI talk during his visit..If chizik promised that RB he would get some runs the 1st offensive series during the 1st game of the year..Imagine what they said & promised to Cyrus..He was wise not to sign anything yet..Think about it hard Big Guy..

That is incorrect. The NLI requires a parent signatutre or guardian for anyone under the age of 21. Contract law does not apply here.

Must include a parent or legal guardian signature if the prospective student‐athlete is
under the age of 21, regardless of marital status.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Just think if auburn would have gotten Shon Coleman back this class. Insane! Or maybe if he hadn't gotten sick auburn doesn't get these ol recruits like this. All this drama with Brent and now CK is just weird. I'd love to know what auburn tells these kids to screw their heads up so bad. My despise for them grows steadily every day. There is no end in sight for the level of disgust I find for these people. It grows with the depth of their depravity.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

No offense to any and all recruits, but situations like Calloways and Cyrus among countless others are why I vehemently disagree with ESPN's broadcasting these "announcements" live on National TV. A lot of these young men are not mentally and in some cases physcially ready to handed the immediate and in certain case intense reactions to their decisions. I really wish ESPN would abolished this practice.

So here is to Cyrus sitting down and figuring out what he wants to do.

I wonder if he was planning on annoucing to go to Alabama, but being nervous and like he said Auburn popped into his head he said Auburn. Now he is trying to figure out how to fix his mistake without making alot of people upset.

Agreed...hopefully his doubts are his own...he certainly doesn't need to be focused on pleasing his family...but on the flip side, parents are often wise with respect to many things so it's certainly advisable for an 18 year old like Cyrus to recognize that fact and listen to his parents' input/feedback on the matter...which sounds like what he may be doing as well.
