Son, as much as I would love to see you in Crimson, my best advice is as follows: In most cases, if we boys were to do everything our Mom's tell us, exactly as prescribed, we would have much less trouble in life. All of the same stories that "eliminate" Alabama seem to reference the same quote from the Coach that refers to proximity as a big concern for Clowney. As people keep going on and on about the subject, if that turns into the biggest concern for him then we probably won't get him. But as we saw with CK, the coaches don't always know what is going on in their players heads.

That is not the case here on Tide Fans. It is all the reports combined, not just what Clowney's coach is saying. Clowney has told a reporter that he is down to SC and Clemson.

I have been looking trying to find a page that shows that Clowney is no longer considering Bama and haven't found one. I went back several pages in this thread to find the link to the page that leads people to think we are out of it and couldn't see one. Does anyone have a link?

I changed the title of this thread. The 'He is no longer considering Bama' was just a little too much. Clowney is considering Bama it is just that SC and Clemson are his top two favorites. Bama has not given up on him and he is still listing Bama among his favorites. Until the LOI is signed anything could happen.

It is just my personal opinion that he will sign with either SC or Clemson on the 14th because of lot of things, not just one tweet or what his coach is saying. Hopefully I will get this one wrong.

JC, if you are looking at this thread, here is my pitch to you son. i lived in SC (charleston) and truly a beautiful state and you would do well at either SC or clemson. However Jedevon, your college career is only a prelude to the NFL. Playing at Alabama will put you on a must bigger stage than playing at either sc or clemson. as far as not wanting to be far from home, Last time I looked, Charlotte was the closest NFL team. Chances are you will play many miles away in the NFL. Don't be afraid of moving to new places. Its an adventure! CNS can mentor you and prepare you for the NFL. Bama is set to win several championships over the next few years. SC and Clemson are fine schools and I wish you the best if you choose either one. Alabama Jedevon, is nationally recognized with the likes of SC(california), ND, MICH, OU, as one of the top five programs of all time. Come join us son. You will be glad you did. We welcome you with open arms. We will make you and your family feel very welcomed. RTR.

I like this this title much better, because I dont think you could completely count us out! I think SC has the best chance but in the long run Alabama would be the best choice especially if winning championships means any thing to him! If the people around hime were thinking of his best interests they would steer him to Alabama! Who ever gets him will gets a stud but it wont necessarily win them a championship! Look at Clemson and D Bowers! Spurrier has been at the top at Fl. and is on a downhill slide at SC. There is great talent in SC, the likes of Clowney but not enough to win the SEC championship or a national championship and Dabo just cant coach them up.

It will be a miracle if Clowney comes to Bama. Here are the current odds in my opinion...

South Carolina 2 to 1
Clemson 4 to 1
Alabama 12 to 1

In clowney's case i don't think we really mind if he steered to us or faxed his loi to the Tuscaloosa on accident, I believe we'd take him.

I really don't think Jadeveon will go wrong with either choice he ultimately makes. I know Bama is a long shot but at least we are in the hunt. The kid will play for a major program no matter. I hope he is serious about his education as I feel he is and its not all about football. Life does look good for him now and I hope it works out for him. He is a fantastic talent without a doubt! He will be one of the few kids that if he doesn't play for Bama that I will be rooting for. Think about the three choices he is down to and you have to agree that he has a good head on his shoulders and a good support group behind him.

Roll Tide Jadeveon! Or what ever battle cry you ultimately end up with!

I agree. I think Jedevon Clowney's mom should look into the % of players who graduate from the Capstone as compared to the % at South Carolina and Clemson. If he had a career ending injury, Spurrier would not keep him on scholarship because South Carolina can't afford to give up even one scholarship as far down as their program is. Maybe it would help if Jedevon had a talk with Tyrone Prothro.

Clowney announcement details revealed

The City of Rock Hill and South Pointe High School sent out a release Wednesday afternoon with specifics regarding the Monday morning press conference for Jadeveon Clowney. The press conference is set for 10:15 AM in the school auditorium. South Pointe athletic director Mike Drummond and Clowney's parents are to speak. Clowney will take questions from the media but there will be no individual interviews because of his class schedule. The press conference will not be open to the public. The release said there will be live coverage on ESPN, WRHI radio and the Rock Hill Herald online.
