Wow -- Drake is a very impressive athlete. He certainly looks 6-1, and his acceleration and speed are excellent. I could definitely see him at WR or DB, but he runs hard as a running back and could definitely play there as well. I'm excited about this guy.
I hope he finds his best position and sticks with it. Recruits labeled as ATH's scare me. It always seems like a kid with a definite position has more success than kids who are all over the place. I know prospects who play several positions ARE great athletes, but, when they play at different spots it can hurt their developmental timeline at their projected next level position. IMO

I dont know if it is just me but this guy looks a bit oversized for what we look for in a RB. He isnt near as electrifying as the big 3 RB on our board but still isnt a bad addition. I do have to wonder though how good he really is if he is ranked outside the top 10 players in the states of Georgia.

Only reason I see him going to a different position other than RB is b/c I believe we get two more RBs in this class that are more touted at the RB position and Drake would have a better chance at WR or DB. As an athlete, I'm sure there are plenty of positions he's capable of performing at. We'll see what positions he plays his senior season

no flame here, but where are you getting your infornation?

refer to page 2 on this thread and you will see where I posted that the AJC has him listed #6 in the Top 10 for Georgia.

possibly the #1 RB in Georgia next season.

not only that, but Drake is 1 of 3 RBs offerd by UGA, the only one so far in the state of Georgia. he was a top priority!!

he is a huge pick up for Bama, esp. at this early stage. UGA fans are livid !! :)

Drake's high school (Hillgrove) is 2 miles from my home.

I guess I'll have to go see him play this fall.

He bears a resemblance to Bobby Humphrey, He has that same sort of lateral shift in his running style, and speed. Bobby was used often and quite effectively out of the backfield as a receiver. He used to run a middle route like a tight end that was almost an automatic six points if you didn't get your hands on him early.

ANDREW BONE: BOOM! Alabama lands two commitments | TideSports.com
The University of Alabama landed a nice surprise on Valentine's Day with the commitment of Kenyan Drake, running back from Hillgrove High School in Powder Springs, Ga.

"It was fun talking to coach [Kirby] Smart today," Drake told Scout.com. "My dad talked to him too and really liked him. Coach Saban talked to me about academics at Alabama too, and they have a great Engineering Dean that really supports athletics so that is encouraging."

The 6-foot, 184-pound athlete had 1,200 yards rushing in 2010 with 12 touchdowns. He added more than 500 yards receiving with eight touchdowns.

Don't be too disappointed...
:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

I'm a little more excited than I sounded in that post.

It will be the first time in a long time that I've had a chance to see a Bama recruitcommit play a few games in person.
