Hello tidefans and friends. I have been having some medical problems starting March 24 when I went to the emergency room finding out I had a kidney stone. After a catscan and x ray, 2 shots of Dimerol or Morophene I stopped crying and they sent me home with a bucket full of Percocet. I took so many pain killers I was hallucinating and doing some really comical things they said llike urinating on the den floor in front of the family. Six days later I passed the stone and was worn out. Two days later I went back to the ER short of breath and was admitted with a severe urinary infection, high co2 level in my blood, weak heart muscle and low low blood pressure. St Patricks hospital was horrible. The food was aweful I was living off ensure and saline water. They ran a lot of tests and sent me to a nursing home for rehab after 13 days. In that 13 days I had no bowel movement and had lost all the strength in my arms and legs. I coulld not walk or stand or pull myself up using my arms. It took the nursing home 2 days to get a bowel movement but I never was impacted or uncomfortable and had a normal movement twice at day 15 and every day since. I am taking physical therapy trying to reach a goal of being able to stand and transfer myself from wheel chair to toilet, bed, bath chair, recliner, etc. That might take a while but I have 100 days here before they kick me back home. I am in good spirits, miss everyone but this is more important right now. I should be home after July 4 sometime. At least the food here is pretty good, I have a mini fridge in my room, flat screen tv, snack drawer and it is a nice nursing home not some run down dump. Thanks for the prayers and best wishes and I will be back soon. Roll
Tide.

Bayoutider,

I will send prayers to you and your family. Sounds like you were sideswiped by that freak of an illness like many other people in America.

I wish you a speedy recovery and patience for you to see yourself get better.

Listen to what the Docs are telling you and do whatever it takes to make it back to 100%.

Best of luck and may God bless you.

Richard, sorry for your condition. I have kidney stones periodically myself. My doctor says I need to keep the kidneys flushed with water. Apparently I wasn't drinking enough. Prunes and lot of water for the other thing would be a good non medicinal way to go. As far as peeing in the family den in front of relatives. I thought everyone did that, once they've over stayed their welcome....
Get well soon bro.

Dang Bayou, sorry to hear that you're having such a hard time. I can certainly sympathize with you though on the lengthy hospital/rehab. When I was having my spinal problems, my three operations and rehab stretched out to nearly 6 months. I absolutely couldn't eat the hospital food except for salads and baked taters. I got down to 126 lbs. (I normally went about 200-210) Thank God the rehab facilities had better food.

I've had a few urinary tract infections too, no fun at all.

Hang in there, we miss you.

Get well soon, bro.

And if there's any positive to any of this, you got to get hooked up with some Demerol. When I had a gallstone attack, they shot me up with that stuff. It'll definitely cure what ails ya, at least for a while. :)

Hang in there, Rich. I can certainly relate to the kidney stones - no fun at all. But sounds like you've had it a lot worse than I've ever had. We're thinking and praying for you - get better soon. We're gonna need you as soon as fall camp gets here!

(anything strong enough to let you take a leak in the den in front of family must be some good stuff!)
