Link: Auburn commit Zeke Pike throws Twitter bombs into already smoking Iron Bowl rivalry

I'm debating on defending a Barn prospect... Oh what the heck.

Obviously, a highly publicized prospect has to handle himself better on a social media site than Pike has. But some of those tweets were in response to folks, maybe adults, harrasing a kid on twitter. Which I find deplorable. I wouldn't be happy about *U fans doing it to Bama commits and I'm not happy about our fans doing it to Pike.

*ducks*

I see what you're saying, but a lot of his tweets were of his own doing. Yeah, he got a bunch of crazies that came out of the wood work, but he also egged it on. The things that really get me are the over the top bravado and horrible grammar.

Pike reminds me of Spencer Region. Both kids perceptions of themselves far outweigh their actual on the field talents. Glad CNS can see through some of this garbage before bringing trouble into the fold.

He's 16 or 17. I wouldn't expect anything less. If he's doing the same thing at 24 then I'll call him an idiot.

What irks me are these "men" (I use that very loosely) that take to twitter, facebook, and message boards to stalk and a slam a kid simply b/c he didn't sign with their school. **rant over**

The two bolded in the same post was enough to get me through the rest of the day, even if it was inadvertant:D

A 17 year old boy should be able to use proper grammar. It's not that difficult considering most the stuff used is basic.

Bingo. He's a freaking high school kid, what would you expect him to do? What are your high school kids saying on these social mediums? It is idiotic that grown men would follow and complain about anything a kid says. Specifically a kid that they don't know from Adam and that has no bearing on their existence. Unbelievable.

Who is Zeke Pike?

Oh what a world we live in. You are only help fuel the fire, let it go. When people quit paying attention to the toddler throwing the tantrums, the tantrums usually stop.

Guess you guys saw the Clemson reports as well that he showed up for camp weighing close to 400 lbs. An unintentional zing on my part, but if it gets you through the day, then by all means run with it:biggrin:

Again, even more evidence that our coaches know a lot more about these kids than we do!

I agree 100%. The thing that bothers me the most is he's probably misspelling things intentionally. I get texts and emails from my teenage brother and cousins and I feel like I'm reading Russian.

With that said, I wish him good health, but I hope he never wins a game in college.

The mods advise against posting links to Bleacher Report articles. Can't we have the same rule apply to Scab? The informational value is about equal between the two sources.
I won't open a link to al.com. I have cancelled everything with them.
I think Donte Hightower said it best though. "Everybody talks until they put the pads on".

Abraham Lincoln once said, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt." Apparently this "kid" doesn't know this saying as apparently playing football is his second favorite sport, only behind running his mouth.

He is trying to make a name off the back of the University of Alabama. Let's not give him the satisfaction.

I can't believe Scarbo would write an article like that. Shocking.

Zeke Pike has come across as a complete moron. The stuff he says is ridiculous, and the AU coaches should tell him to cut it out ASAP.
Leave it to Scarbinski to make a public issue out of a stupid 17 yo kids trash talk. BTW anyone going to auburn has no room to talk about quality of education, he's obviously not done his research outside of what school will buy him hookers and magic computer chips.

I think that quote is more often attributed to Mark Twain. We agree on Zeke, though. :biggrin2:
