This does not sound good.

According to some Arkansas people I just spoke with, Knile Davis' scream was "so loud it will haunt us in our dreams." (quote from source)
Hope it's nothing serious and he gets back quickly, I was really looking forward to seeing what he could do this year. If he can't I think Wingo could shoulder the load, he's too talented not to see the field.

This is terrible news if true. I seem to remember a great young talent for Bama that never did come back from a similar injury.

Thanks for the kind words.

It is definitely a compound fracture, and he is currently in surgery as we speak.

Reports from a number of reliable sources are that he "is definitely out this season, and may never get to play again."

Sure thing, guys.

I really do hate this, too. We can bounce back with Dennis Johnson and Wingo, but good grief. This is just hard to swallow.

Hogfan,

I agree. with Petrino's offensive schemes, Wingo and Johnson can deliver. but IMO, Davis was your most complete back. he was the big bruising back that Arkansas needed to stay balance. he will be sorely miss this season.

I agree with you. Going into last season DJ was our #1 back, but he's since had life-saving bowel surgery. Who knows if he will be back to that form? And Wingo has all the potential in the world, but for some reason, he doesn't utilize it. Does a lot of running East to West instead of North to South. True Freshman Kody Walker looks outstanding thus far in practice, too. Between those 3, we can be alright, but that's the thing. Being "alright" is what lost us the game against you guys last season. No offense.

Dennis Johnson always looked impressive to me when he was returning kicks or just in with the offense. Very good vision and speed. Wingo is alright. Davis gave them a sure thing in the backfield but I'd be surprised to see a big drop off in production simply because Petrino's offense is so good and they have experienced players backing him up.

The way Davis makes cuts to the outside is special though, and he has great size and excellent speed. I hope he can make a full recovery.

I really hate to hear this. Losing his talent on the team is bad enough, but more importantly, I hope he can recover full use of his leg. It would be terrible to be crippled for the rest of his life. Praying that he can fully recover.

Really hate to hear that type of injury for him. He would've made it to the next level too. Great combo of size and speed. Arky should be fine without him (I think WIngo is going to explode), but it really sucks for the young man.

As a fanbase, we completely understand how Hog fans are feeling over this. Watching Tyrone Prothro break his leg, and all the complications he had in the recuperation process (recurrent infections in the bone), was heartbreaking for us.

Here's hoping KD had a top-notch surgeon and is able to fully recover and one day take the field again. God bless the young man.
