In addition to "wanting" Bama, here are a few more quotes from a couple of LSpoo sports writers and a current player:

"The Tigers aren't just beating quality opponents, they're making a mockery of them."

(Referring to past Spurrier Florida passing teams) "Instead of the video game air attack perhaps the greatest LSUfootball team ever gradually delivers slow deaths gash by gash, cut by cut via a punishing rushing attack."

(Referring to upcoming first year opposition QBs) "And they all have to deal with Claiborne and Mathieu--not to mention a ferocious linebacking corps and an enormous, speedy defensive line."

Direct quote from DB Claiborne: "Hopefully nowhere," Claiborne said when asked where he'd throw the ball if he were an opposing QB. "We try to make it that way. If the QB does throw one way, we try to make them pay for it."

I am fired up to beat these Cajun clowns--how about you?:BigA::BigA::BigA::BigA:

Re: More LSU smack talk

Might just be me. But personally I don't think anything Claiborne said qualifies as smack. If so, then how is it any different than this comment from Mark:

“That is something we pride ourselves on,” said safety Mark Barron. “Every time we hit you, we want to hurt you. We don’t want to end your career, but we want it to hurt you when we hit you. So that is just something we pride ourselves on.”
It is what it is. I love that attitude from Claiborne. It's gonna make it just that much more sweeter to beat them to a pulp. I don't take any pleasure in beating up on someone who thinks/knows he's not any good. I prefer to knock people off of their high horses; the needle that deflates the aired up balloon.

Re: More LSU smack talk

I honestly feel that LSU is starting to become little cocky, and full of themselves. That Tim Tebow pass that they pulled confirmed it all for me. I think they'll walk on the field against Alabama all hyped up and they will make few mistakes that will cost them early in the game. You don't hear Alabama talking smack about LSU or anything else. CNS trained the team to look at opponents one at a time, and LSU is looking ahead right now.

Meh, they have the closest margin of victory amongst both teams ;p

Technically, we're beating our opponents by a larger margin of victory too ;p

Re: More LSU smack talk

Talk is cheap, and we have a few more games yet before Nov 5th and the teams before then are going to be tougher than Vandy.
Neither Ole Miss or UT will be tougher than Vandy. If our defense stays focused we should shut them both out.

I'm concerned a bit, because we're not going to have a Bama/LSU smack thread. The Vandy thread was an anomaly, not to be repeated. LSU fans are not welcome to try and turn this into a smack thread - particularly with three weeks still to go before we play...

Re: More LSU smack talk

Three more weeks 'til LSU. They'll yap and many will listen. Focus won't be a problem for this Bama unit. The first half of the Vandy game rekindled the fire. Just took St. Nick to stoke the embers a bit.

Lots of talk going both ways. I think that no matter what the outcome, after Nov. 5th, the winner will have a lot of respect for the loser.

Re: More LSU smack talk

LSU has two proven QB's. I hope Bama can blow out Ole Miss and Tennessee. We've got to give P. Sims more experience passing the ball in games instead of just mop-up duty. Sometimes, stuff happens. So, we've got to be ready.

We need 2 QB's ready for LSU!

However, let's not get ahead of ourselves. We've just got to play them one at a time. I know getting the team motivated will NOT be a problem for the LSU game. I do hope Bama players are more motivated for Ole Miss and Tennessee than Vandy. Tennessee's QB loss could hurt the Vols because Bray is a good QB.

Re: More LSU smack talk

wow.. lol.. shutouts are hard to come by. i'll just ake 2 wins..:)
Vandy held OM to 7 points. Think about that.
UT has lost their best receiver and starting QB.
If we play with the intensity and focus we did in the second half last night, I see no reason we cannot have two more shutouts.

LSU63, I'll agree 100% with what YOU said. At this time I think that LSU deserves the #1 ranking. Hopefully, that will not be true after November 5, 2011.

Re: More LSU smack talk

where was the smack talk part??
Nowhere and not going to be. I'm not concerned about the players. What I am saying is for the fans' benefit. It's been a problem in the past around this rivalry and I hope it will be taken to other boards...

thats the truest thing i've heard all night. To this point the only thing separating Bama and LSU is better wide receiver play from LSU, and SLIGHTLY better DB play from Bama outside of Mr. Mathieu in purple and gold (who, in my opinion, is the best defensive player in america right now)

thats it... period

Re: More LSU smack talk

Regardless of what anyone says, it's hard not to appreciate the way LSU is playing. I love watching physical teams that get after you up front and smack people around. Nov. 5th is going to be a sloberknocker.
