THE REMATCH IS ON! What will be BAMA'S game plan for the NC game?

I'm ready to skip over the selection process as it seems that the rematch is on.

With all of our guys healthy, and we will need them all; will BAMA approach the NC game just like they did the regular season game?

What changes will CNS make to the game plan?

Our weak spot is obviously special teams. I'm hoping for changes on the special teams play and hoping we figure out a way to keep from kicking to the punk that cheapshotted our guy on kick off coverage.

If our guys can score TD's in the first half instead of field goals, pound the ball in the second half and not make turnovers I see us winning by a TD.

For starters we will punt and play defense instead of playing for long field goals, perhaps using pooch punts. Then stop LSU, and score with short field position. We will get aggressive and go for it on 4th instead of kicking a long field goal once or twice.

The gameplan includes making field 1/2 our field goals and catching balls on the one-yard line. Also, defending the option would be nice.

Do we cut it loose offensively or play conservative?

If we just play our normal game, we win. CJM abandoned our normal offense with the reverses and wild cat pass. I was so frustrated and asking myself if he was watching the same game I was.

More short passes to open up the running game. Make them get out of 8 and 9 in the box. Don't turn our backs on cheap shot player Sweet Honey Badger. When they are in man run a halfback pass.

Make Jefferson beat us in the air. No options, zone reads, etc. Team with the better QB wins the game.

Stop their option attack and only attempt makeable field goals. If we do that I would think we would win by double digits.

Almost forgot we will need better punt/kickoff coverage. I know our punt coverage is good, but honeybadger has been playing good ball.

Re: IF THE REMATCH IS ON! What will be BAMA'S game plan for the NC game?

his calling is too predictable in that game. The only creative calling turned out to be an INT.

we almost did everything wrong to loose that game by 3pt in overtime. If we do half of the things right. Philip Sims will see some actions in 4qt.

I still believe we can out score them by at least 10 pt if both of us played "Normal".

If we just play our normal game, we win. CJM abandoned our normal offense with the reverses and wild cat pass. I was so frustrated and asking myself if he was watching the same game I was.

Was it was because it was au that Bama looked more creative or was Bama actually more creative in the IB?

The gameplan was fine overall. The team left 20+ points on the field. What game did yall watch? LSU is not some offensive juggernaut IMO. They are an extremely opportunistic team who uses their defense and special teams very effectively to win games. They should have been beaten that night. Execute correctly for 60 minutes and the Tide will ROLL!

Re: IF THE REMATCH IS ON! What will be BAMA'S game plan for the NC game?

Run Trent up the middle, not around the edges. That simple. You can't run around LSU, they're too fast. But you saw what happened when he hit the LOS with a full head of steam. It took their whole team to bring him down. I'm befuddled we only ran three plays up the middle, two of them resulting in 10+ gains. And can we please stop this thing where we have our running backs chill for a sec before they hit the hole? Waiting for blocks to develop? LSU is too fast for that, we gotta get there before they do. Those defenders were camping out at the LOS on those slo-motion runs around the edges. This ain't the Matrix. Trent works best in warp speed.

And kill them with the short passes, use Smelley a lot. I think Smelley would be a mismatch for a lot of these DBs turned LBs. Throw the deep pass to keep them honest but don't rely on it completely like we did last time, it's easily AJ's worse phase of the game.

It seemed like the last game we didn't attack them at their weak spot, but instead played perfectly to their strength.
