What is the worst Alabama game that you've attended in person?

I was reminiscing about our recent 21-0 drubbing of LSU in early January, two national titles in the past three years, and the 48-6 record in the last four years (good times indeed). Then, I was trying to remember the last few times Alabama has been shutout, given the recent LSU game, and noticed 3 in the past 15 years or so.

One, in particular, had to be the worst game I attended in person. It was the Southern Miss 21 Alabama 0 game in September 2000; the year Alabama started preseason #3 and finished 3-8. We couldn't do anything right that day at Legion Field. Zow and Watts combined for about 122 yards passing, we didn't eclipse 100 yards rushing, and turned the ball over multiple times with a pick six and fumble returned for a touchdown. It had to be the worst and most frustrating Alabama game I sat through.

Honorable mention:
Northern Illinois 19 Alabama 16 - Michael Turner ran all over us.
Louisiana Monroe didn't bother me nearly as much as the other two, since I knew the floor with CNS was what he did at LSU. He's already surpassed that.

Obviously, the program has come a LONG way since those games.

Easy for me...Loss to UCF for homecoming in 2000. Pre-season hype, drumming by UCLA (was also in Pasedena for that one), lead to one failure after another. Seeing Dustin McClintock, one my faves, throwing punches as the clock expired...Rough season, rough game. We are so far removed from where we were then, thank goodness. But that was rough.

Close second was the loss to Northern Illinois. The only solace from that game was that Michael Turner ended up being the stud he showed that game.

I was at that Rohan Davey game also. It was brutal.

LSU had 528 yards passing and 611 total yards. Josh Reed had 19 catches for 293 yards. All the fans were hoping for double coverage, but he was open the entire game. We only loss by 14 points, but it felt like 28.

Yep Prof, for me it'd be South Carolina 2004..

We couldn't do ANYTHING on offense. I think Marc Guillon was our QB.

Just a frustrating game all the way through.

Man, this is easy. 1957 UA/AU. We lost 40-0. On top of it, it was one of the coldest games I've ever attended, with wind factor. I even had a blanket to wrap up in. Somewhere in the 4th quarter, I gave up and went down to the parking lot to meet my friends. None of our younger fans can imagine what it was like under Whitworth. Shula was wildly successful by comparison...

i havent attended nearly as many games as most of you since growing up being a bama fan and living it Texas we didn't make it to many before college but now attending the University ive been to all for the last few years.

just from an anger standpoint for me it was 2010 auburn. the way they came back and when Lutzenkichen danced in front of the student section after that touchdown and the way cam was covering his mouth jumping around on the field after the game really made me sick to my stomach.

i was also at UL Monroe but that one for me was just like... confusion about what just happened.. That was the quietest exit from the stadium i have heard. When we lost to LSU this last year and Auburn people were just ....ed talking about it. But after UL Monroe it was like a library. No one knew what to say

2003 UGA, or 2003 LSU. blowouts where our guys just got rolled.

2003 UT and 2003 Ark ar up there for different reasons. our guys came to play, and went to overtime in both games. UT went 5 overtimes I belive, tying what was the NCAA record at the time. Arkansas went 3 ot's.

2006 Arkansas gets a special mention because of the missed FG's and I had to walk back to the car through a sea of Arkansas fans making jokes.

2005 Aub game was bad. Losing was too bad, I had kinda gotten over that at half time around the 6th time brodie got sacked. But I got into a fist fight with a drunk aub. I was in the band at the time and the guy decided that itd be fun to stomp on our instruments while we were boarding the bus. we lost the game but I won the fight....so thats something right?

Oh yea UL Monroe but ive learned to ignore that one ever happened. I still remember watching the big yellow school buses pull up and laughing at them when one of my friends said "Guys what if we lose?" Needless to say we burned him as a witch after the game.

Thus far, I've attended 3 games during the Coach Saban era. Of those three, two have been defeats, i.e., one third. One was the Nov 5th loss to LSU, my first real game at The Capstone since '58. Perhaps, the most heartbreaking loss was the SugarBowl, National Championship Game vs Notre Dame, Dec 31, 1973.

However, the worse loss had to be the 2008 SugarBowl vs Utah. From my endzone seat in the Louisiana SuperDome, I watch Utah score 21 quick points en route to a huge win for their program, as they embarrassed our CrimsonTide. Since that loss, we have 2 BCS Championships in 3 years. So, sometimes an embarrassing loss gets the attention of players and fans. So, I suppose a big thank you is owed the Utes, eh?
