Re: Four Bama football players arrested...
I disagree with all this "the university needs to hide behind lawyers, they have a process to follow" stuff. If AU, Tenn. and countless other schools can just kick kids of the team, why can't Bama? Shoot, in 2009 UT kicked a player off that was later acquitted or the charges were dropped and then reinstated him. In the unlikely scenario that one of these 4 is found innocent then we could just as easily reinstate him, although I highly doubt that will happen to any of them. Sometimes the process needs to be quick and simple, in this case it should have meant dismissal, not indefinite suspension. I know what indefinite suspension has meant under Saban, I just think a harsher stance should have been taken this time.
Also, I'm tired of hearing Bama fans, not specifically in this thread (think radio), say that Calloway deserves a second chance. This was his second chance and he deserves to be gone just as much as the rest of them IMO.
Last thing for now, I really hope that no one connect to the university in any way helped these thugs post bond. It was a huge chunk of change for 3 of them that I wouldn't have been able to afford. I honestly hate that it is so easy to post bond anyway, the deserved a few nights in jail before bonding out.
