I can't figure out the plumbing. If it were modern, I don't see how you can see up or down through a modern toilet. An outhouse, yes, but not a regular toilet. Was he looking up through the water?

It mentioned a septic tank and that he was covered in dookey, so I assume he somehow managed to place himself inside the septic tank. I really don't want my imagination to run any more wild than that.
