Sounds like CBJ has really figured out how to change their mindset.Mentally, just by their name, when team’s hear that name or when it comes to playing against them, they’re mentally beat already before they step on the field
Orange and black would be fitting for this time of year. Maybe that'll happen and the sound folks at BDS will play "Monster Mash" over and over to drown out Sloppy Flop.I'm just hoping UT doesn't break out the black jerseys Saturday. That would be bad, since it always works so well against us.
"Sure I'd like to beat Notre Dame, don't get me wrong. But nothing matters more than beating that cow college on the other side of the state"I've hated this kind of thing since fRAN refused to say Auburn ("that school down the road.")![]()
Urban Meyer does it. He refused to say BYU when he was at Utah, FSU when he was at Florida, and seems like he won't say Michigan now. It's that school up north or that school over there or whatever.
It's small minded.
I don't think Coach Bryant ever refused to say "Auburn" or "Auburn University.""Sure I'd like to beat Notre Dame, don't get me wrong. But nothing matters more than beating that cow college on the other side of the state"
Don't be too critical.
Check your memory. Who do you think 1st called them Cow College?I don't think Coach Bryant ever refused to say "Auburn" or "Auburn University."
A slap in the face? How about aj mccarron's disrespect concerning this rivalry? The Tennessee game means nothing to him. Geez.....you guys are funny.I look at it as a slap in the face! I hope we put it on them big time.

He said he grew up a Miami fan, so the rivalry didn't mean much to him growing up. Thanks for telling us we're funny. You've seen a joke of a football team the last few years, so you should be an expert on what is and isn't funny.A slap in the face? How about aj mccarron's disrespect concerning this rivalry? it is 1000 percent not Butch Jones's style to disrespect any opponent.I've hated this kind of thing since fRAN refused to say Auburn ("that school down the road.")![]()

That's ok Hoss. As the old song goes, the times, they are achangin and ther's nothing you can do about it. As Phyllis said, we're coming back!He said he grew up a Miami fan, so the rivalry didn't mean much to him growing up. Thanks for telling us we're funny. The more things change the more things stay the same. That's ok Hoss. As the old song goes, the times, they are achangin and ther's nothing you can do about it. As Phyllis said, we're coming back!
It's in the post I quoted. I'm 30 years old; Coach Bryant died 4 months before I was born, so I can't check my memory. I've read dozens of books though and he didn't have a problem saying the word "Auburn." Again, it's not mocking the opponent I have such a problem with. But really, it's ok and not that big a deal to get worked up over.Check your memory. Who do you think 1st called them Cow College?
Maybe not, but it's easier to say Alabama.it is 1000 percent not Butch Jones's style to disrespect any opponent.
Lol.....why does it matter?Maybe not, but it's easier to say Alabama.

That could be seen or heard as a sign of disrespect.Lol.....why does it matter?
Well I guess it doesn't but how would you feel as a Tennessee fan if Nick Saban said "that team in orange" when referring to Tennessee? Or just, "that team up north"? Or what about, those "garbage truck convention, moonshine drinkin, good for nothing hillbillies"? I mean, how would that make you feel?Lol.....why does it matter?
