Tennessee coach / players refer to Alabama as 'the red team'

I'm just hoping UT doesn't break out the black jerseys Saturday. That would be bad, since it always works so well against us.
Orange and black would be fitting for this time of year. Maybe that'll happen and the sound folks at BDS will play "Monster Mash" over and over to drown out Sloppy Flop.
I've hated this kind of thing since fRAN refused to say Auburn ("that school down the road.")
Urban Meyer does it. He refused to say BYU when he was at Utah, FSU when he was at Florida, and seems like he won't say Michigan now. It's that school up north or that school over there or whatever.

I don't think Coach Bryant ever refused to say "Auburn" or "Auburn University."
It's not so much the pet names that I'm being critical of. It's refusal to actually acknowledge the real name of your opponent. This is what fRAN and Meyer did and do. They refused to say Auburn, or Florida State, or Michigan. I have to be honest though, I'm not sure that's exactly what Butch Jones has done.
A slap in the face? How about aj mccarron's disrespect concerning this rivalry? The Tennessee game means nothing to him. Geez.....you guys are funny.
He said he grew up a Miami fan, so the rivalry didn't mean much to him growing up. Thanks for telling us we're funny. You've seen a joke of a football team the last few years, so you should be an expert on what is and isn't funny.

It's in the post I quoted. I'm 30 years old; Coach Bryant died 4 months before I was born, so I can't check my memory. I've read dozens of books though and he didn't have a problem saying the word "Auburn." Again, it's not mocking the opponent I have such a problem with. But really, it's ok and not that big a deal to get worked up over.
Well I guess it doesn't but how would you feel as a Tennessee fan if Nick Saban said "that team in orange" when referring to Tennessee? Or just, "that team up north"? Or what about, those "garbage truck convention, moonshine drinkin, good for nothing hillbillies"? I mean, how would that make you feel?
