I live in Lee County also and its funny and sad at the same time that a lot of them are just now showing support for their team again. Until now a lot of them around here have talked about how unimportant football is...but 1 lucky play later and its back to being important. (not all of them mind you but quit a few);)
I told someone at work today that after the Georgia game all the folks I saw wearing barner gear reminded me of the day or 2 after a big rain...all the tadpoles you see pop up in mud holes all over the place. I bet every 3rd barner I saw had an old 2010 NC shirt or hat on... dust that stuff off folks! :) bless their hearts...

Get a grip - I still wear my National Championship gear, 10 years later. I bet that Alabama fans were wearing 1992 Championship gear for more than a decade after that victory. 2010 was only 3 years ago - the win less than that.

Hey, I still wear 2009 stuff. I paid for it and the shirts are comfortable. I won't be getting rid of those for a while.

Hey...I've got a grip. My point being the sudden exposion of wearing their gear when they haven't been for the past 2 years. I wear Bama gear almost daily and always have, even during the down times.

I still have (and actually wore it a couple of weeks ago) a T-shirt (that I purchased in Knoxville while traveling in spring of '93) that says on the front "Some Football Teams Talk About Tradition", and on the back it says "At Alabama, We're Doing Something About It". It then displays numbers relating to the various achievements accomplished by Bama at that point. Those that have seen it are surprised when I tell them it, and those records, are from 20 years ago, and have been added to, especially the last six years. Roll Tide!

I can't believe they are getting praise for that lucky play at the end of the game. It's not like they earned that win.If that had been us we would be getting killed in the media. But Auburn gets a pat on the back for a garbage win.

Yeah, they've been wearing their FSU shirts for a couple of years now. Starting to see a lot of AU crap. I liked it much better when they were 3-9, or whatever. Time to crush their hopes.

Sorry - thanks for the clarification. Now I get the "dust that stuff off" comment.

In hindsight, I am happy that the barn beat Georgia after all. At the time, I was ticked off royally. But, now, I'm glad. Because if they had dropped that game to Georgia, it would be easier for Bama to overlook them. A 9-2 team that blew a 20 point lead in the 4th quarter against a severely depleted squad is MUCH easier to overlook than a 10-1 team that won on a miracle play. If the barn had lost, we would have clinched the West in Starkville Saturday night. However, now,the iron bowl is for the SEC West for the first time ever. They almost got us in 2009 because we were already in the SEC Title game no matter what, and the guys clearly had their minds on the rematch with Timmy and the gators. This time, there is no game to look ahead to. If we don't win, we ain't in. That simple. I wish WE were the 14.5 point underdogs!

I agree with the point that you make, but the down side is that they still believe. That belief will keep them playing hard for 60 minutes if the game is even remotely close.

A team that believes in itself is a lot more dangerous than a team that has had its spirit crushed. A GA comeback victory would have crushed them.

Yes, to a certain degree. I believe they are a paper tiger waiting to be crushed. IF we come out and score and score and score and keep them out of the end zone, it would demoralize them. We must be efficient on offense with NO turnovers and play sound defense with the understanding they will get occasional "cheap" yards.

Bama's "A" game will net a 21 or above point win. Bama's "B" game will net a 7 to 11 point win. Bama's "C" game will net a 1 to 3 point win. Bama's "D" game will net a 1 to 3 point loss and Bama's "F" game will net a 10 point or above loss.

Bama has yet to play a "D" or an "F" game all season and the odds are not good that they will. With 10 "C" games or above already in the books the probability of Bama playing a "D" of "F" game is 1 in 12 at this point which is less than 10% at around 8%. Do not cancel your SEC championship ticket orders at this time! ;)

I wouldn't call the Miss St game a "C" game. I'd give that a "D" game. Remember we turned the ball over 4 times.

Agreed - the only thing that doesn't make that game an "F" is the play of your defense and special teams. It was clearly an "F" for your offense.

Yes, but the difference is, the barners had put their gear away after they started losing games by 20 or more points in 2011. That gear stayed put away last year when their team quit on the season before it began. Now, deep into this year, they want to suddenly pull it all back out and talk like 2013 began right after 2010 ended and the last two seasons never happened.
