****Bama Vs. OU Postgame Thread****

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Congrats to OU players and coaches. They were well prepared and played well. Thanks to AJ, CJ, Norwood, Steen, and other seniors for the great years they give us. It was a fun ride. I would have liked for the ride to have lasted longer but that is life. Sometimes it doesn't turn out the way you want it to.

Well it turns out to be sort of a season to forget. Really appreciate this senior class though. Lots of wins, titles, and memories - thanks!

We had a great run defensively but at this point it's obvious to me that bigger and slower is not going to work going forward. Offenses just don't play that kind of ball any more and we need to adjust or go the way of the dinasaur. And we need DB's, lots of them. I hope Saban is ready and willing to re-invent his defense.

On the bright side, I think this will be a wakeup call for Saban, Smart and the players... Have teams figured out our D??? It is a fair Q and I think something we need to look at... Is it time to pit Kirby back at DB coach and move around the rest? IDK but, I do think changes are coming...

This is the problem when your goal is MNC or bust. I'm disappointed, but not surprised at the result tonight. OU flat-out wanted it more and made more plays. The future is still quite bright, so nobody jump off any ledges.

Like I said 28 points off turnovers and dumb penalties, we beat ourselves. I have my opinion and I'm not changing it. I'm not going to argue with anyone on here either. It's offseason now and I hope these guys are hungry for 2014.

Congratulations to Stoops and his team. BTW, it looks like the time Coach Saban and his staff spent with the Oklahoma coaching staff can be deemed a success for the Sooners. Another tough one to swallow! Our coaching staff has some work to do in the off season.

And that's my biggest concern. Will he be willing and can he even change his approach? I just don't know. I worry. The game isn't the same as it was just a few years ago. Can he adjust?

I would say that Auburn beat us twice; but Bama was somewhat exposed here. Team is not equipped to come back, and the defense is lacking pass rushers. Congrats to OU. I don't like Stoops mouth, but he and that dang QB of his came up big tonight. Bama lost this game in the trenches believe it or not.

I think that this means Alabama will drop out of the top 5 for the first time since 2010.

He'll play in the NFL. He'll grade well and be no later than second round. But he'll only play on the left side with a southpaw QB.

I kinda thought this as well. He will be a RT in the league. He reminds me of Andre Smith. Gets by on talent in college but will need to develop in the NFL. This is not a knock on CK. After all Andre got a second contract and has started over 40 games in a row for the Bengals.

Derrick Henry was a beast tonight. Almost every time he touched the ball he scored. On that last play, the field was wide open and everyone knew we would pass. Why didn't he hand it off to Henry?

I was extremely proud of the way the defense played the 2nd half and if on that first interception they had called that holding call when OU had Norwood's jersey pulled away from his body holding him, we might have sent it into OT.

Oh well, it wasn't our night. Roll Tide anyway!!

I'm curious about whether or not our coaches want it at this point - and do they care about what the Sugar Bowl has traditionally meant to Bama fans?

I sort of doubt it.
