****Bama Vs. OU Postgame Thread****

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Thank you to AJ & CJ You deserved a lot better tonight. To our Oline and DB recruits who watched tonight, please be ready to start in August you are needed. The guys gave it their all just didn't have the talent... Give OU the credit, they exploited our weaknesses.

Derek Henry is a stud, I look for him to start next year and be an all-SEC if not all-American. The future is bright...

Let me just say this: I post this with the best of intentions, so please don't suspend me.

Why aren't we allowed to question the coaching?

If this answer is best given via private message, feel free. I'm simply curious.

Think about our last few losses, A&M, Auburn, this one. In every one of them we, in my opinion, went away from the run game way too quick and allowed the other team to have too many offensive possessions. We arent a passing team, we are a power running team.

Our team is not designed to play tennis matches, we get out of sync. I think it's going to have to start with the defense or we will have to abandon our pro-style attack.

I just feel bad this group of seniors will go out the way they did. The last 2 games were train wrecks. Hopefully we'll learn from this and move forward. We have a great coaching staff and I'm confident they'll make the necessary adjustments. It's weird to feel bad about an 11-2 season, but the way this season ended definitely leaves a bitter taste.

Out played, out coached. Hats off to Oklahoma, they earned it. Nothing good happens when you turn the ball over 3 times in the first half. The only positive I can see for our team is that we could have folded, but fought back. Our OL/DL/Sec. has to get better. Hats off to A.J. for his career and for being someone that my little boys can have as a role model. Just wish he would have went out better.

Those games have more in common than that...

The turnovers obviously didn't help tonight, but one only has to look at the Auburn game film and the other games you mentioned to see the truth. We have major scheme issues, perhaps on both sides of the ball. When your highest paid coach in the country is complaining publicly about an offensive philosophy, that is a bad sign. When the games prove we can't defend it... And again, I say check to see how many hurry-up drives have ended in scores against us... It is undeniable.

I don't like it, but I won't put my head in the sand either. It is what it is.

Exactly what I have been thinking!

One of those games where you can't overcome the hiccups. But not being able to stop 3rd and long, no outside pass rush, and a decimated defensive backfield will eventually catch up up any team at some point in time. As someone posted earlier, our unbelievable talent got us through several games this year. Proud of the team for battling all year and looking forward to next year!

There is a difference between questioning coaching decisions and questioning a coach's parentage. ;)

That said, SOMEONE needs to be taken to task for leaving CK all alone when it was clear from the very beginning that he couldn't handle the end on his own.

The seniors on this team have brought us national championships and I hate that their Alabama career ended on a sour note. I just saw AJ shake Stoops' hand and felt that was a very classy thing for him to do.

I said a couple things in the game thread I probably shouldn't have and I apologize for that. I'm not going to comment on the game itself as I think everything that needs to be said has been said. I just want to say a big THANK YOU to the men who have performed so well for us. hopefully, the ones coming back next year will use the last two games as motivation to get back on top.

You certainly are allowed. It's all in how you do it. Tonight, the criticism has all been framed as sarcasm and worse...

Agree with this 100% - our scheme was rough, though I can allow for some offensive hiccups as we're not used to playing a Big 12 defense. But Saban has to look in the mirror and begin to tweak his sceme - we are susceptible to particuar offenses.

Maybe this lights the fire again like 2010 did. We went on what was one of the greatest run ever in college football after that so called down year.

We have to give OU credit. They outplayed us.

I think we will revert back to this next year. Got some work to do. Kinda hope CK comes back. He has some work to do, but NFL development may be what he needs. He may have reached his peak here. Plus 1st round money will be hard to turn down.
