For or against the hire?
Im not sure. So I have to look at 2 different questions.

One, what exactly happened with our Offense last year? It was no all Coach Nuss & it was not all the O Line. With the talent we had what was it. Whatever it was changes needed to be done.

Second & most important question for me, Do you Trust CNS? Well I do!

Less than 30 days ago we were attacked by another school trying to take CNS, we won that battle, now in the aftermath, we owe CNS our full support....With that, I'm sorry Coach Kiffin for all the jokes I made about you, I'm gonna say 100 RAMA JAMMER's and beg forgiveness.

I do believe there are some of you who would LIKE TO SEE US FAIL just to say "I told you so"... If that's the case, there's a "lovely little village on the plains" towards the end of Hwy 280 you can visit any time you like...
Matt, I hope your big grin meant you were saying this in jest. If not then what you said could not be farther from the truth. I cannot imagine anyone who is a true Alabama fan and/or alum who would "like to see us fail" in order to say "I told you so" about hiring Kiffin.

There are however many who post on here, including me, who are not enthused with this hire and understand the potential that this could go the wrong way. I think I speak for these same posters when I say, while we are not thrilled with this hire, we place our trust in CNS to make sure it either works or doesn't. As for visiting the loveliest village that too was an insult to those of us who have been Alabama fans our entire life.

I am reserving all judgment on this hire until we see how the offense plays. I didn't like Kiffin and I didn't like Saban until he came to Bama. Kiffin may be a jerk or he may not be a jerk, but if he is a jerk now HE IS MY JERK.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this cause I skipped most of the pages, but I'm sure most everyone here sees what's going on. Saban is going to groom Kiffin to be our next HC.

More changes coming?

So you have proven top recruiters at OC/WRC/TEC/RBC and OLC for the offense.

And possibly with changes on Defense could include a new DL coach and moving Kirby back to the DBs and getting Kevin Steele back on the field and recruiting trail.

If the crazy rumors are true then the defense would have proven top recruiters at DL, LB and DC/DB.

If rumors become true, that might be one of the best staffs in college football.....it would have 5 former head coaches on the asst coaching staff. All rumor though...but really crazy rumors so I wont say any names.

This is fair and understandable.

What's funny is how so many folks have said this could be great or a disaster. Folks, our last two "disastrous seasons" (2010 & 2013) Bama was 21-5.

(Pretend the following is in BLUE)

And it's KIFFIN! Don't join in on Vern's gaffes or maybe folks just like "E"...Lacey

The other thing is about being able to "control" LK. Considering CNS schedules time for when his assistants can fart I don't think it will be a problem ;)

Is it fair to say that Coach Saban is vilified by our opponents and the media? Is it fair or justified?
I can understand UT not liking Kiffin. He's done absolutely nothing for me to hate on the guy. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Welcome Coach Kiffin and Roll Tide!

I'm no Cowherd fan but I heard the interview he had with Finebaum yesterday and it really fired me up about this hire. Apparently, Saban and Kiffin have had a Mentor-apprentice relationship for quite a while and there is a tremendous amount of respect there. It's possible too that Lane climbed the coaching latter entirely too quickly which led to his mismanaging the media (creating our negative perception of him). I just get the feeling that this is not only going to work but be wildly successful for all parties involved and the Crimson Tide program will be the overwhelming beneficiary.

Best statement yet...this is going to be a fun ride!

While I did not like a lot of CLK's antics at UT, I understood why he did them: to get people talking about UT again. Out of all the coaches and teams that were his targets, CNS and Bama were never mocked by him. That tells me that he was either smart enough not to poke the bear or he ginuinely has respect for CNS and our program. It also leads me to believe that his moves were calculated and not the result of a loose cannon that could not help himself.

I will not crucify CLK for this years result at USC after living through the affects of major scholarship reductions with my own team. To my knowledge, other than the death penalty to SMU, no school has received more scholarship reductions than USC, PSU, and us. The third year of dealing with the restrictions seems to be the one where it all falls apart and the reductions achieve their intended purpose: to have a debilitating affect so that the school will think twice about breaking the rules again.

Based on the potential candidates listed for our OC position, I believe CNS selected the best one.

Doyel of CBSSports says a lot of what people think of Kiffin, including me. Sory if this is posted elsewhere; delete if inappropriate.

He's hard on Kiffin, that's for sure.

He makes the same negative points about Kiffin we've been making here for years.

It's easy to just take a swipe at Doyel, but it's hard to make specific criticism of the contents of the article, in my humble opinion.
