i'd like to see some more advanced routes from our WR's. we'd be tough to handle with a hurry up attack featuring Cooper, White, Black etc.. running circles around defenses.
I'd settle for seeing them come back to the QB when they see he's in trouble, rather than stopping in their tracks...

I personally like this hire, as long as Saban can control his avont-garde personality. Which I think he can. Roll tide and god bless.

German is really mine also, but "avant-garde" has almost been absorbed into English as a popular phrase for "cutting edge." My third is, of all things, Norwegian and the fourth is still Latin... :)

Wonderfull!!! We shall have to converse sometime in Deutsch at some point I rarely have the opportunity to do so. I don't speak any Norwegian and my Latin is as bad as my French. Latin is a beautiful language it's rather sad that it's being lost and rarely used.

Thought this might be interesting. Sounds like the Offense will be the same, but more of a uptempo. Town, a five-star prospect rated the nation's No. 1 quarterback for the class of 2015 by 247Sports, told BamaOnline that he spoke to Kiffin on the phone on Sunday and came away impressed and excited by what the Tide's new playcaller had to say."I asked him what they're going to do offensively and if anything will change," Town said. "He told me that it's going to stay the same concept-wise and that they're still going to be running the pro-style offense, with a sped-up tempo. I like that- I think that's cool. We run an uptempo pro-style here at St. Bonaventure, as well."

Interesting quote from our 2015 QB commit, Ricky Town:

Sounds like the uptempo pro-style is confirmed.

Yes, but some of the younger guys never caught on to that. I consider that to be coaching...
Agree. When I can only recall one reciever out of the whole pack that did this fairly consistently and he was a senior...

Very interesting news; me likey...

I really don't care for posts that don't have anything to add to the thread by saying something like, "I trust Coach Saban and that is good enough for me." However, I was close to saying this myself regarding the Kiffin hire. I have read enough posts and articles lately to help me get off of this fence and now feel excited by the addition. My FIL was an AD at a couple of large universities and he stays somewhat plugged into the sports circle; he thinks Kiffin is a fantastic QB coach and OC as well.

Probably the best article yet on the subject. Saban's reasoning is sound, as usual. There's a reason he's the best in college football. He doesn't make bad hires.....

http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2014/01/lane_kiffin_alabama_offensive.html

"Over the past few years, Kiffin's offenses have picked up some no-huddle, uptempo tendencies common with many Pac-12 teams while maintaining pro-style roots, Brown told AL.com on Friday.

That could explain why Kiffin was viewed as such an attractive candidate to Saban, who has made it no secret that he's at least interested in picking up the pace on offense so long as he can maintain a trademark, dominant running game that can drain clock at the end of a win.

"There's some tremendous advantages to it," Saban said in September. "The only reason we haven't done it to this point is we've played pretty well without doing it and our players have played better without doing it."

"I think the time is coming where we'll probably do it, too."
