think about this this for a moment, no matter where Evans decides to go, Auburn is fighting tooth and nail for an Auburn legacy against their most bitter rival.

that alone makes me feel warm and fuzzy. :wink:

And an Auburn native also. This would be a great pull and I would love to see Rashaan be part of this great class.

I think this means that he is truly confused....if he was a true Auburn lock....then he wouldnt feel the pressure....I think he is truly considering Bama....it still looks like Auburn(with Gus Malzahn going to his grandfather's bday party on Saturday)...but I think we have at least a fighter's chance in this one folks..because his father said last night in his interview on Baron and Bone that his decision will come down to the scheme in which he fits better in....and I think that is a 3-4 IMO but you never know what these recruits think

It isn't like you have to force down pork chops and collard greens. I am having them tonight. Even if they don't get the recruit, they got a treat for a meal.

I'm with you on that one. I was born and raised in Alabama, lived in the South all my life, and love most all traditional Southern food but there are 3 things I refuse to eat: collard greens, turnip greens, and grits. Anything you have to put that much pepper sauce, butter, or sugar on to choke down just ain't worth it.:smile:

Edit: Polk (or is it "poke"?) salad falls in that category too. That's just weeds from around the mailbox as far as I'm concerned.

I'm take it or leave it on the pintos, but everything else I love but the greens. Just can't seem to acquire a taste for them. My dad loves them, so it's not like I wasn't exposed at a young age, just not my thing. By the way, you forgot the homemade cornbread! Is it lunchtime yet?

it was a pleasant sidebar....seems like no new info for Evans, so it went to home cooking.

Rashaan was just on ESPNU's Recruiting Nation show. He was pretty adamant that his parents are allowing him to make the decision on his own and telling him to make the decision what's best for him and not someone else.

We have a good shot here. Bama offers him a much more natural gut for him in its defense and a much better quality everything else. Au basically offers faster playing time, supposedly, and that's it. He has a good chance of playing early some at bama too given our track record of playing young lbs, but the "you'll never play there" auburn recruiting Angle combined with their complete lack of anything resembling linebackers makes him a starter barring a tragedy. However there he's playing out of position for his size.

This one is really hard to call and though it's likely he ends up at aubie I think our visit made a huge impact, possible enough to get his commitment

Before I came over to read the latest on Evans on this board, I was on several other Bama boards. Fwiw, all the " insiders" are coming out of the wood works on his recruitment. Bottom line, the theme is all the all same, Evans loves Bama but in the end he will chose auburn. Playing time and buying into Ellis Johnson " star" position are the main factors. Many have felt that Bama would be his final choice because the position of olb would best fit him, but the "family" have convinced him otherwise. Local pressure is huge but it's not the deal breaker. Let's see what happens.
