This MIGHT be the plane that carried Battle to Wichita this morning:

https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N800LQ/history

Supposedly the plane belongs to a ProAssurance insurance exec. This info is from BoL:

I can connect dots. Stan Starnes CEO pro Assurance UA grad and see him at several basketball game floor tickets.
and this:

More likely John McMahon, director of ProAssurance board, also on UofA BOT

I love this thread. I do however feel like some of the people bash the football team on the game thread though because I don't come over here as much as I should. This will get me back interested in the basketball team again.

This is an odd argument. The basic sense that people have is that Barnes quite often has not gotten what he should have out of his teams (we could quibble about the difficulty of accurately gauging his teams' talent, but I think it's fairly plain that he's had some ultra-ultra-talented teams at Texas). Where does Texas's traditional status as a football oriented sports program enter into that general critique? Evaluating how a coach has faired versus his program's expectations is very distinct from evaluating whether he's been able to get his teams to play up to their talent level.
What seems to be missing here is that Barnes, in 20 years, did what the Texas program did in 60 years. If their expectations are so warped, that they expected him to not just be their best coach, to not just have the most success, but to far eclipse what they ever accomplished, they're just a bunch of drooling lunatics.

The only reason they had any reasons for high expectations was solely because of what Barnes himself accomplished. They are not a basketball power, they never have been, but Barnes gave their program unprecedented success, and they got it into their silly little heads that somehow that was a failure on his part.

Saw a very encouraging post over on TI. Even though it's not copyrighted or premium, I'm not going to C&P. As most know, the site owner is an old and good friend of mine. A respected poster, who has actually done some contract work for CSS, had a conversation with CSS, who was eating at the same restaurant. He didn't bring up the Bama job, Smart did. He said that the Bama job was the best out there and everyone knew that it was just a matter of time until Bama applied the football blueprint to basketball. Also, Smart made it clear that the UTx job was on a different, lower level, which I found very interesting, in view of the fact that Smart is acknowledged to be the primary target for UT. As always, take it FWIW. It is just another message board, when all's said and done. This particular guy is a long term and generally reliable poster, though...

Even when I take my crimson colored glasses off, I still can see the Bama job as having TONS of potential. The right coach could do very, very well in Tuscaloosa. I think all the pieces have come together over the past few years to make this happen. First was the vision of Dr. Witt and Mal Moore, then throw in the SEC network, along with our history in basketball and we are at a point where our basketball program is ready to go where we've never gone before.

Just saw that Wichita's coach show was canceled for tonight.... Either they're showing respect for CGM and allowing him to deal with this, or it could mean one thing.

Again though, that's not responsive to the critique that he does a poor job of utilizing his teams' talent. When I called your earlier post odd, I meant that it was odd because the arguments you listed out -- which I think are good ones -- weren't really counterpoints to that underperformance critique; they were just defending Barnes's tenure on different grounds.

WSU message boards are saying it was cancelled by the station and not Gregg Marshall. Station said the show was only on the tentative schedule and was never confirmed by the athletic department. It was never place on Coach Marshall's schedule (yeah right).

I think it is just a ploy to prevent heavy drinking the Wichita area this afternoon....
