Question: Braxton Miller to UA?

I actually find a lot of humor in fan excuses for why their teams lose.
Sometimes there are particular calls that truly determine the outcome of a game. For example, the Preston Gothard "No catch" in the end zone against Penn State in 1982 absolutely cost us the game.
But the one's that just tickle me to death is to hear someone say..
"If they hadn't called holding on that touchdown pass we'd have won", when the final score was 59-0, and it was 42-0 when the penalty was called..lol....:)
As far as Miller, if he indeed wants to enroll at UA, bring him on. The young man can absolutely play Quarterback.
Urban Meyer chose him to be his starter. That means he's darn good
I haven't been following this very closely at all. Is there any real substance that anyone knows of.
sip
Or the TD pass Kitchens threw against the barn - don't remember who the receiver was, I only remember the front page of the Mobile Press had the pic as the whole page, ball in hand and toe on the ground, with the headline "You make the call!"

Well if we are going for excuses then lsu 04 and 07 should be up there. Idk it kinda amazes me sometimes that we live off excuses. Lsu fans still hang on to the 09 game with the non int call. I think dana white says it best " don't leave it in the refs hands to decide an outcome, finish your opponent."

1995... Kitchens to Curtis Brown.

Wow, Ryan Fowler - solid, plugged-in Ttown talk show host - said on his program this eve that he figures 90% chance Braxton Miller signs w Bama...

I mean, what's next?

Lane Kiffin comin' here?

No, wait...

Wow. This could really change the qb race during fall camp.

like I said, Miller can come in, contribute situationally. He doesn't need to know the whole playbook. Just learn a dozen or so plays, with an extremely high execution rate, and go from there. Should be an exciting year if this happens.

While free agency is exciting, of course, it's a shame for the players who actually signed with Alabama.
You aren't guaranteed a starting position just because you sign with a school. If you don't like competition you shouldn't come to Bama. Why is it a shame if all the QBs are given an opportunity to win the job?

This side of the argument has gone to the extreme. I can understand being happy with what we got and rather seeing people who signed with bama play, but saying it's shameful for our coaches going outside the family to acquire a prospect is just unfair

I fail to see any difference in Miller to Bama for one year than Coker to Bama for 2 years. Also not much different than a JC to a school for 1 or 2 years depending on their draft status.

If you sign as an incoming freshman you accept this reality.

I don't see a problem with going out and recruiting a 1 or 2 year qb like Coker or Miller on occasion. The thing that concerns me is, IF the rumors are true, this is now the last two offseasons that we've done it. To me it says one of two things to the recruits: A) I can work my butt off and the coaching staff will just go out and find some high profile transfer to put in when I've put in my time (I don't see that as a huge problem) or B) the coaching staff at Alabama isn't developing qbs and is having to go outside the ranks to make up for it (potentially a huge problem)

What about the guys like Phillip Sims, Philip Ely, Parker McLeod, and Luke Del Rio that transferred? Isn't it a shame to Alabama that gave them a scholarship.

Easy rebuttal - Lane Kiffin recruited one of the QBs on campus. The others were by Jim McElwain and Doug Nussmeier, which indicates those two are not good at developing players so QBs might want to stay out of Gainesville.

[h=1]Urban Meyer: 'I would say Braxton is staying'[/h]
Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer appeared on the Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday and answered a myriad of questions. But one question he was asked was if the rumors about quarterback Braxton Miller transferring to another school, particularly Alabama, were true. Meyer provided his thoughts on one of his three quarterbacks.

"I would say Braxton is staying, (according to) all indications I'm getting," Meyer said.
