Its not just Alabama, he would be doing it about any SEC team on top. SEC fans are passionate, they fuel his twitter, they click on ESPN just to comment on how much they hate him. This is what keeps him going, he is not paid for his expert opinion, he is paid because he gets us riled up and when we are talking about him, we are generating revenue for ESPN. Best way to get rid of him is to act like he does not exist.

One person that disappointed me watching the game was Kirk Herbstreit. Kirk has always been pretty good about not showing a bias, but, he really got on my nerves at times during the game..Especially on the TD catch by Ridley when Kirk kept saying it looked like the ball was moving as he went out of bounds, when the replay showed, without doubt Calvin had firm control of the ball as he went out of bounds..

And the one play when Coker threw the ball out of bounds & Kirk wouldn't shut up about if the ball made it back to the LOS..I've always have enjoyed listening to Kirk when he calls our game, but, he dang sure was coming off as a Big 10 Homer to me & he just absolutely got on my last nerve this time listening to him..

Screw him, if he wasn't pretty good at football in a previous life he'd be asking 'would you like fries with that?'

The quicker you realize he's dumber than anyone you know, the quicker you'll simply dismiss his opinion. He's literally a stupid human being who was graced with just enough ability to play football to avoid a minimum wage job in the service industry.
This is the absolute truth. Kannell has a mental problem -- Stupidity.

I picked up on that as well.

Whenever I see him on an ESPN program I find something else to watch. I'd rather watch an infomercial than I would listen to him.

I think both those plays were close. He is not perfect, but who doesn't have some bias who played the game? The best ones fight it, and he does it pretty good. In a world of Kannells and Galloways he is still far preferable.

TM09,

As much as I like you and enjoy your posts, I have to disagree with you here.

One person that disappointed me watching the game was Kirk Herbstreit. Kirk has always been pretty good about not showing a bias,
I agree. If there's one analyst out there that if he said "Alabama is going to lose" I would seriously consider betting on the other team
it's Kirk Herbstreit. He's EXCELLENT in that job.

but, he really got on my nerves at times during the game..Especially on the TD catch by Ridley when Kirk kept saying it looked like the ball was moving as he went out of bounds, when the replay showed, without doubt Calvin had firm control of the ball as he went out of bounds..
To be fair, the bigger issue was that he (and the lead guy) didn't think it was INDISPUTABLE that Ridley had the ball. Well, I didn't either until about the sixth replay or so. At full speed, I thought he was in and then I thought he wasn't. At the end, I thought he was but that we wouldn't get the TD because it wasn't indisputable - and it really wasn't. It was a close call one way or the other although if it had been first called a TD and still reviewed, the analysts would have said it was not certain he did NOT have it. I'll spot them here.

But as far as I could see, the ball DID NOT make it back to the LOS. He does have an obligation to report the FACTS. When Coker first threw it I couldn't tell - but turn it around.........Fowler thought that Cook should have been called for intentional grounding on that one where there was no receiver in the same zip code as the desperation heave....and so did Kirk.

I didn't find him to be biased at all.

He's irrelevant, even if he is on ESPN. Everything he says is idiotic. It's amazing to me how guys like that get paid to be on TV because of the stupid comments they make. He sucked at FSU and sux even more now at ESPN.

I picked up on that as well.

With the all due respect: the call should have been grounding and Ridley's extraordinary catch could have been called either way.

One reason folks like Kannell exist is that whenever the commentary dips below the praise level of "A Mighty Fortress is Our God," college football fans, including ours, scream sacrilege.

Kannell is one thing. But Herbstreit?

This is 'FUNNY' everyone bashing Kannell, saying he's stupid and so forth!
I don't listen to him or for that matter espn, and not much of anything pertaining to their talking heads, BUT
he and espn are far from stupid, they've got ya'll doing just what they want!
You listen, read and take in everything they have to say, which in turn increases their popularity and puts money in their pocket's!
Turn on SEC Network!
