Anyone notice the glare Dabol sent CNS's way after his tirade?

Some where out there
We score on that drive and Jennings is probably ridin" the pine.
If you watch ESPN coaches film room version, they talk about Saban getting on to Daboll. They go on to say that coach wants to run the ball and get the game over to avoid injuries. Then one series later, Jennings gets hurt and one coach says "this is what I was talking about, this is why he wanted this game over" I found it surprising that they all came to the same conclusion about those circumstances very quickly......but there are no guarantees , freak things do happen but its a shame they have to keep happening to this team at the same position

I do not want Daboll run off, but I think he needs to recalibrate his eye from NFL to college.
In the NFL, especially with Brady as a QB, 3rd and 2 is a passing down. Quick out, slant, something like that. Deadly accuracy by the QB makes passing the best bet.
In college, especially with the RBs Bama has, it is definitely a running down. QB accuracy is not as high, o-line was run blocking pretty well. Plus, keeping the clock running was critical at that stage.
I think he has a recalibration needed.
Very well said. We forget sometimes how long he was in the pros and that thought process may take a little time to be removed.

The play that made my day was the PICK PLAY for a TD. It gave Clemson a dose of their own medicine. I noticed the announcers were quick to criticise us for the Pick Play, saying we should have been flagged for that play... No one ever mentioned Clemson beating us last year with a Pick Play, or Clemson running Pick Plays on us this year.
Karma was Clemson getting rubbed off in the Pick Play.
That was no pick; full blown block. Luved it!

I’ve given some thought as to why Daboll
might have been calling throws in those situations (understand I was screaming “run the ball” at my TV too).

Jalen’s timing and accuracy had been off most of the night. Is it possible Daboll was trying to give him some “safe and easy” throws in that situation not so much to impact this game but to have him more “game ready” for passing situations against UGA? The game was pretty much over, and Clemson had to be selling out to stop our run. Could it be with safeties rolled down, Daboll felt he could get favorable matchups and easier passes for Jalen?

I’m just thinking out loud here. Regardless, our SOP in game situations like this has always been “You know what we are going to do. Run the ball. You man up and stop us.”. And discretion is sometimes the better part of valor.

That wasn't a pick play. Our guy mowed down both defenders. I think everyone (to include the officials) were shocked at the play. I am so glad they didn't call offensive pass interference. Icing on the cake for it to happen against Clemson.

i think you can legally block on/within 1 yd of the line (i remember someone posting the rule in the game thread)

I didn't see it that way either. And I don't think it was frustration with any particular group as much as it was the play calls in that particular moment.
This

He got ripped and should have. Alabama should have run the ball to at least milk the clock. Hopefully he dosen't pull a stunt like that against Georgia. We controlled the game last night and didn't need to be fancy.
and this.

Living in Columbia, SC that play was especially sweet. So far not one of my Clemson friends had said one thing about that play…and they can’t, namely because they spent the past 12 months explaining to me why their TD was a perfectly legal play when they ran it, no way for them to backtrack from that stance now.

I gotta think Saban ran that play in that fashion to that player as a jab, showing that anybody can score in that situation if offensive PI is not called, even a 300lb defensive lineman.

Watched a replay and the Clemson player crossed the line of scrimmage and that's where initial contact was made and then pushed upfield.
With regard to the Saban/Daboll confrontation, I said it regarding another coach last year, and will say it every time. I think it is wrong and most always detrimental to verbally abuse a person in a leadership position in front of his/her subordinates.

What I love about their defense of that play, and frankly I've seen supposed "experts" make these claims, is that they say Alabama's DB initiated contact with the WR on the play so in reality it should have been DPI, not an illegal pick play. Which is horse manure. I re-watched that play 20 times or more when I started hearing those claims, and it is clear that Clemson's WR initiates contact with Marlon Humphrey on the play. Illegal Pick. Period. So now, if I see any Clemson fans griping about the play the other night, which I doubt I'll see because this was a mud hole stomping unlike our game last year, I'll simply claim that Clemson's defenders initiated contact with #92 and thus it should have been DPI on the play.

Maybe he was thinking about what boxes he'll use to move back to Boston.

Based on the relationship between Saban and Belichick, the call would be b/c Saban had talked to Bill and believes the Daboll experiment did not work out like he had hoped. Kinda like when he suggested to Nuss it was time to go.

If Daboll does go, I’d argue we have an in house replacement in Dan Werner. He is a well respected QB coach with lots of experience. More important, he knows our players.

I love it. I spent 24 years in the Army. You learn very quickly to take {butt} chewing in stride. Daboll and Saban are fine. In today's politically correct and snowflake environment a lot of people think its the end of the world. It happens. Some will say "but not in public". Maybe Saban should have called a time out and took his OC into the medical tent for privacy.

I don't think he liked it to well either, Coach don't do things the right way sometimes. He don't like gatorade and dang sure don't like getting knocked down on the sidelines . I give Jalen some slack last year because off him being a freshman, I don't know if it's coaching or what but I did expect a little more from him in some parts of his game. So i'm not sold on Dabol as of yet, I know the talk was the offense will have to carry the defense a little more this year but so far it's the defense again. Maybe Coach is not happy either time will tell.

All you have to do is watch the SEC video where Rogers talks about Hurts and Fromm. Look at the examples he shows where Jalen is not executing. He didn't even show the touchdown to Ridley where Ridley was wide open in the middle of the end zone and Jalen didn't see him. Daboll is calling good plays - we are not executing those plays. I can understand why our receivers are feeling the way they are. True - some are dropped passes. But Jalen makes them harder to catch in a lot of cases

I hope Daboll is our OC next season. He has recruited a couple of Armindola (sp) types which goes with his offense so it should be better next season.

In support of Daboll in the Clemson game, Hurts was a little erratic in his throws. I'm sure another off season working with Daboll will show continued improvement by Hurts.
