Big difference in Track and Football. Very big guys tackle you in football.

Hines Ward isn't quite the good example in this case. He played Wide Receiver, Running Back, and Quarterback while at Georgia.

I don't think the issue is that folks (on this board, at least) think the move is easy. The issue with Jalen is that he is clearly not the best QB on the team (maybe not in the top 2 now) and that means a path to the NFL will have to be at a position other than QB.

Pats WR Edelman was a QB at Kent State before transiting to WR in the pros. Brad Smith as a Randle-El esque type talent for the Jets, after being a QB at Missouri.

Former Ark QB and personal nightmare to me Matt Jones played several years in the NFL for the Jags at WR.

Looked like he was barely moving but nobody caught him.

A quick google query provides several links of articles of the top college QBs converted to a different position in the NFL. Seems to me like the hit ratio on the converted players is about the same as those that were drafted for their collegiate position.
