Plain Trouble on "Da Plains" (all AU posts here)

IIRC, Steele was on CNS's first staff at Alabama. He left for Clemson after a few seasons then returned to Tuscaloosa and left again this time for auburn. I think he is a good DC, but is generally recognized as an ace recruiter. UT graduate.
He went to LSU for a season before going to Auburn. He was between Chavis and Aranda.

Hmmm. Good point!

So to eject the bus, it would cost $32M plus whatever Steele is owed...

Getting back to Bryant, it cost them $180K for $cam. Marshall...who know$. Inflation not withstanding, Bryant would cost a considerable amount more.

TUF is probably negotiating that amount at this very moment. :rolleye2:
I don't believe Bryant is worth more than Cam though.

Above someone mentioned Stidham, I though he was a shoe in for Heisman. What happened, bahahahahahahahahahaha. Every year auburn says the new QB is the best thing since cam. So far they are not so good at predictions. Kind of like Chiz and Malzahn were both going to runSaban out of the SEC lol.

I think we are overlooking the obvious answer----they could join the American with UCF and not have to play either of us.

They don't want no part of the defending champs - No, they are better off to revive the Gulf South Conference and promote All Bran-Montgomery and Huntingdon College, and "entitle" themselves to more natural rivalries on their own level.

AU's AD doesn't like the UGA and Bama games being so close together (funny how it didn't matter last year when both games were at JH...lol) and wants some 'Breathing Room' between the games.

I think we'd all be happy to oblige the 'Iron Bowl' moving to Late Sept/Early Oct and help them out....;)

Let's start with the IB each year and end their hopes of an undefeated season on the first Saturday.

If this does happen, imagine the cause and effect on the rest of the conference schedule. UGA isn't going to want to have AU and UF too close together. Alabama isn't going to want to have the IB and UT too close together.

And if the IB is moved, who would become Alabama's season finale?

This could become an offseason topic of discussion if Auburn keeps talking about it.

I think the perfect schedule for us would be AU in late Sept, 12RC on the 3rd Sat of October, and the Season Finale could be 7SU.

That's our main 3 'Rivals' right now and that would space them out to the end of each month.

I think we'd clobber AU that early every year and it would take the spoiler role away from them.....even if they win a game here or there it's so early on we could recover from it.

12RC will be our continual doormat no matter where they fall.

Then 7SU to end the year would be pretty sweet. We get more fired up for them than AU anyway.

And what comes of the LSU-TAMU game at the end of the season? That would be the big hangup. The chain reaction to moving the IB would be significant.

It does not matter where it is on schedule, AU is a loser, no matter when they play who they lose a lot of games. We can win playing our top opponents after they get off weeks, good is good and bad is bad.

Just went on a three-hour tour of Gus's Isle and I could only shake my head in awe. A couple of Aubie boards are over the edge. Really.

If all I had to do was whine and gripe about another team I think I would switch to BB or something. I can sum up Aubie vocabularies in a few words. ...... cheats. ...... has the SEC office in their back pocket. ...... owns NCAA, Emmert is Saban's clown. ESPN loves some Bammers. Saban hand picked the CFP committee. It is sad to see a once legit rival in the throes of self-pity and wallowing in the ewe dung. Sad, very sad.
