He was building Florence into a great program and then left after a couple of years.Doubt it. He’s an Auburn fan.
He coached in Gadsden when Cadillac was up there. Was on staff at Prattville with Bill Clark and took over when he went to South Alabama. Then, he went to Florence before going to Central.

Like I said, Thompson is good. Central is in another league. They don’t get the attention because of location (IIRC, they are eastern time zone). Thanks for the updates. I'm surprised this is such a route. Thompson has been a force to be reckoned with most of the season.
It doesn't sound like they are on the same field.Goodness, 38-0 - Thompson doesn't belong on the field with Central.
Wait, is part of AL in EST? I thought the line was the UGA/AL state line, but it's been a long time since I lived in Alabama.Like I said, Thompson is good. Central is in another league. They don’t get the attention because of location (IIRC, they are eastern time zone).
The small area that is close to Columbus, GA. Phenix City is in it.Wait, is part of AL in EST? I thought the line was the UGA/AL state line, but it's been a long time since I lived in Alabama.
They’re a basketball powerhouse too.Like I said, Thompson is good. Central is in another league. They don’t get the attention because of location (IIRC, they are eastern time zone).
They have several D1 prospects on the roster.

Is Thompson a private school? I can't imagine a HS coach pulling $100k/year!Thompson for several years was a lower tier program in the old 6A region 6. They’ve come a long way to get to this point. Hiring Spanish Fort’s coach for $100k+ per year helped. I wonder if he can sustain it post-Taulia?
No, they’re a public school in Alabaster, AL in Shelby Co. Obviously made headlines when they hired him.Is Thompson a private school? I can't imagine a HS coach pulling $100k/year!
There are several HS coaches in AL that make 6 figures. Is Thompson a private school? I can't imagine a HS coach pulling $100k/year!
