To all the people that are saying we will win by more than 14, you need to go watch Auburn’s front 7. They are going to give Mac fits. I think we will still win but it will be a one score game.
The Alabama offensive line will have to face that challenge, not Mac. Alabama wins this game handily if Mac has time. If Mac does not, then the game will be a struggle.

Auburn only sacked Burrow 3 times in their game. Alabama's offensive line is significantly better than LSU's, especially at the tackle positions. Mac Jones is not a statue back there. He is probably more mobile than Tua has been - certainly more mobile than Tua was last year in this game. Tua was sacked exactly 1 time last year by Auburn.

Whatever happens, happens, but Alabama could as easily win this game by 20+ as by 3. It comes down to a single thing - winning the LOS.

Last two times I predicted a specific score we lost. So I’ll try something different.

We are going to win by two scores. Y’all pick the actual score based on that.

Ok, so you pick awbern to win by two scores... :cool2:

I am picking my team (Bama) to win by one score in a close game.

That’s my point. Brown and Davidson live in the other team’s backfield. If our OL doesn’t contain them, it’s gonna be tough.

Agreed, but there is absolutely no reason to believe that your offensive line will not be able to do that. My reasoning was included in my post, which you clipped out.

We’ve talked at length all year about why this defense hasn’t performed to the Bama standard. Mobile QBs like Nix have hurt us all year and I don’t see that suddenly stopping in game 12. The young defenders miss assignments quite a bit and the Aubie misdirection won’t help that. Our DL outside of Barmore has little impact on the games. I think their pedestrian offense eaks out a few points. Mac has looked really good against 2 awful defenses, but only put up 7 points against Tennessee, and the Auburn DL is light years better than the Vols. And while Gus is a goof and CNS is the GOAT, Gus has managed to outcoach him twice on this field, where they catch every possible break. Hate to say it, but I’m prepping myself for a close loss.

AU 17-14.

LSU, who has an offense that is ostensibly better than ours, only scored 24 points on these guys at home. I think we'll have a tough time cracking 17 on the road with a backup QB. To win our defense needs to be prepared to hold them to 10 or less. Tall order. Not impossible, but tall.

I'll say that I can understand the frustrations of a large chunk of AU's fan base this season. If their offense had merely been competent on a consistent basis, this would be a championship-level team. I'm not proclaiming a loss - I think we are more than capable of getting it done - but I also think that we have not faced a defense this season that is even anywhere in the vicinity of Auburn's. SEC defenses are down in general this season and our schedule has broken out in such a way that our offense really hasn't been tested by a quality defense. This game will certainly be that test.

They still gave up a ton of yards to LSU.....over 500, yet gained less than 300 vs LSU's defense

Certainly some folks who have lost hope.
Not at all. But underestimating the Barn on their home field has turned out badly multiple times. With Tua out, I think Brown is now the most impactful player in the game.

I’m thinking this game will go one of 2 ways.
1). Players an coaches have a great week of game prep, fully knowing what’s at stake, and come out guns a blazing! Resulting in a big Bama win!
2). The barn gets pressure on Mac most of the game resulting in a few missed plays along with our D getting rattled. Bama still wins in a nail biter... hopefully not!
Although I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to see the Barn’s field soaking wet due to irrigation being “accidentally” left on all night, again!

If you actually predict a loss, you have lost hope.

Have mercy on our souls when Coach Saban decides to retire.

I may retire too.

And the irony is that it's not the young ones....

It's those who think that if the team gets over 300 yards, our defense sucks....

This offense w/o Tua is likely one of the Top 10 in the country with Mac......and the defense is likely a top 20 team....

That combination with our talent and special teams is HUGE......

If they do, then they have zero change against the route runners we have.....

Just about every Auburn fan I know doesnt feel confident about beating us at Home even with Mac Jones as the quarterback. I think this has to be one of the weirdest buildups for the Alabama-Auburn game for a long time.

All who have watched this game over the years realizes how unpredictable and surprising the results can often be. Both sides could do a list of unwelcome surprises that have come in this game. Betting on the spread is a pure roll of the dice! I think of Jason Campbell looking like an all world QB taking a good Alabama team apart in Jordan Hare and a number of other particularly nauseating events we all could list. It may well be Bama's turn this time around in Jordan Hare. If Mac could come out hit some early throws and gain confidence, Bama could get up big and dominate with a few key defensive stops. We all know the breaks could go either way and it become a complete agonizing nail biter. IMO a lot rest on Mac dealing with pressure, escaping the pocket and making some throws.

I am going to say 35-17 Bama. A good offense can torch us. A very mediocre offense will score around 17 at the most.
