I'm sorry, but when does Saban get the blame? The only reason the gus bus is still in auburn is because he outcoaches Saban every time auburn has a decent team. Saban does great with these games where we can out talent another team, but he is a basic coach and hardly ever thinks outside the box or play aggressive in critical situations.
Exactly. When Saban faces decent Auburn teams, coaching swings it in their favor. That’s very telling.

Folks the problem isn’t Auburn or Jordan-Hare. Nothing about either of them actually actively won the game tonight. We LOST that game. All Auburn did correctly was stand back and let us.

That’s what is so disheartening about it all. We used to be so disciplined. So mentally tough. That’s been gone since the second quarter of the NC game last year.

Some things I hate worse after this game:

Gus Malzahn. Previously to this game I thought he was bit classless. He’s words that I can’t use here.

And as far as our coaches I’ll leave that to the GOAT. He knows best.

But three that don’t impress me is Golding and Banks, as well as Flood at O-Line Coach. We are undisciplined on both sides of the ball, and the O-line has immense talent that is being wasted.

Refs took 4 from us early on a phantom hold. Blind-eyed a hold then called a phantom face mask walking them to the goal line for their first TD. Give em 7. Refs adjusted their normal mannerisms to allow them to snap the ball for the fg. That’s 14 points to the refs.
We give up 2 pick 6’s. That’s another 14.

We lost by 3.
They are STUCK WITH MALZAHN.
Let them wallow in mediocrity for 5 or 6 more years.

At least we won’t now have to worry about being embarrassed in the Sugar Bowl. This is THE most hollow 10 win season that I can remember in almost 50 years of watching Bama games. I guess it’s mainly because we lost to the two most predictable opponents on the schedule.
Did you sleep through 2005?

I believe when CNS was flying back with Mal Moore after accepting the Alabama job he said to Mal that he had hired a horse-* football coach but no one would outrecruit him. If CNS is correct, he will bring in the talent, but will rely on the assistants to coach them up. And CNS has delivered talent to the assistants. But over the past few years, the assistants have not gotten the best from that talent.

IMO, this game needs to be closer to the beginning of the season. I would love for it to be dropped or at least played at a neutral field, but that is just me. It pretty much went about like I expected and that's why I turned it off after our first series. Bad voodoo in that stadium. We can't coach in it at all.
I’ve been beating the pots and pans for this proposal for years. Other programs have already figured this out and made adjustments to their schedules involving rivalry opponents. Why our ptb cannot see the advantages in doing this I will never understand.

So it lands squarely on Saban's shoulders, but we weren't outcoached?
You are blaming Saban for this loss? It lands on his shoulders because he is the CEO. But he, Nick Saban, did not get out coached in this game. Please, if he did, tell me where Auburn's game plan won the game. Where their adjustments won the game.

Enlighten me.

Bama has half a dozen guys that played on the defensive side of the ball tonight that will be drafted. To look that bad against AU is inexcusable. Yeah, injuries hurt, but you shouldn’t give up 34 points to an offense like that. Not acceptable.

Played two teams with a pulse all season. Lost to both. Saban killed the SEC, and it it is coming back to haunt us.

We need to replace a couple of coaches. We will probably have a lot of freshman play next year. Mac did a good job. We need four new O linemen but with this performance, they will not go pro. Penalties and not holding their blocks have hurt us all year. We have a lot of work to do to get back where we were. We need more SPEED.

I am very upset and disappointed. I knew it would be difficult to win, but I still think we would have won if not for the penalties and the missed field goal. (even with the 2 pick 6's). Mac played well except for the 2 interceptions... if not for those we would have certainly won.

I think Golding will be gone next year. I had heard rumblings he was having personal issues (from another site I read). I still don't understand why our defense can't be more disciplined, and in this game, our offense too.

Two things all year that have been glaring are the same things that lost us the game: penalties and kicking. The refs certainly played a part in it too but it is not all on the refs (except that field goal Auburn got at end of 1st half).

I just hope Bama can win the bowl game and I hope it is not vs Oklahoma. Don't want to hear the Jalen storyline with no Tua.

Frankly, I hope it’s not Oklahoma so we don’t have to watch Jalen and company score 75 on this defense.

Jones is a gamer and comes across as a nice kids but you aren’t winning a title with him at QB. The game has changed too much. You need a legit game changing QB to win titles. Game managers don’t get it done any more. The college game has become basketball on grass at all levels and in all conferences. If Jones is QB next year Bama will win a lot of games but not title.
IF Jones can stop throwing picks then he can do enough to win a championship. He showed a lot of heart to me today. I hope we win one with him at QB next year and I think it is very possible.

There were no adjustments by gus. He didn't have to adjust.
