It might have been blind luck by the defender, but it was still a poorly thrown ball. Mac played great, but his two mistakes created at least a 21 point in swing in a 3 point game. This is what I was worried about, a green QB in a hostile environment.
yes sometimes you just need to eat the ball and live to fight another down.

Yeah it is not like Bama didn't make errors enough to lose 2 games.....but that time back on the clock turned up big didnt it??
I can't get over the one where the barner pushed one of our guys right in front of the ref, who ran in between them to break it up without calling it. Then the same guy shoved another player, again in front of the referee but still no call. Then when the second guy shoved back, it's off-setting penalties.

I am very upset and disappointed. I knew it would be difficult to win, but I still think we would have won if not for the penalties and the missed field goal. (even with the 2 pick 6's). Mac played well except for the 2 interceptions... if not for those we would have certainly won.

I think Golding will be gone next year. I had heard rumblings he was having personal issues (from another site I read). I still don't understand why our defense can't be more disciplined, and in this game, our offense too.

Two things all year that have been glaring are the same things that lost us the game: penalties and kicking. The refs certainly played a part in it too but it is not all on the refs (except that field goal Auburn got at end of 1st half).

I just hope Bama can win the bowl game and I hope it is not vs Oklahoma. Don't want to hear the Jalen storyline with no Tua.

We can’t keep having this kind of coaching turn over every year. Not sure that we have the right defensive coaches in place now. But just not sure what the answer is. I don’t ever remember an Alabama defense giving up as many points as we have this year in total.
Golding coached the ILBs last year and this year - the worst performing defensive group in either year. So it isn't about experience because he had Mack and Dylan last year. He just sucks as a LB coach.

Saban promotes him because he has great ideas, except he cannot get those great ideas to materialize on the field.

Golding is a failed experiment.

Well, if Gus’ job was in any jeopardy, it ain’t no more! He did the one thing he had to do. As it turned out, that was convincing the refs he had one more second.
Yes. I think that is his greatest strength. It seems he can talk the officials into almost anything. If Gus wasn't a football coach he'd make a great used car salesman.

Losing hurts but losing when you have the most talent really hurts. There is no excuse for this. Penalties, turnovers, bad tackling, situational unawareness. Very disappointing.

Hard to believe, but Auburn gained 25 more yards and 1 more first down against Bama , than against Georgia’s ‘vaunted’ defense.

At least we won’t now have to worry about being embarrassed in the Sugar Bowl. This is THE most hollow 10 win season that I can remember in almost 50 years of watching Bama games. I guess it’s mainly because we lost to the two most predictable opponents on the schedule.

Pretty sure SCAR is going to fire Muschamp. Golding need to be taking a role change or job change to compensate for bringing him in for 2020.
I was thinking that this morning after the Clemson game.

I hate to rotate the staff after all the moves over the last 4-5 years but Golding is probably going to politely find new opportunities this December.

Just like the Clemson, this lands squarely on Saban's shoulders. But Saban is still the GOAT.

If you think that Alabama was out-coached in this game, you know nothing about football. Yes, the defense played like crap, but the offense played great. The refs helps Auburn, and luck helped Auburn. The 2nd pick six happened on a play in which the ball was tipped by Najee behind his back into the arms of a defender who did not even know the ball was there when it hit him in the hands. He ran it back 100 yards for a TD. That was a 1st down play from the 2 yard line. Blind ass luck. 14 point swing. That one play decided the game.
So it lands squarely on Saban's shoulders, but we weren't outcoached? And don't start with that crap if I think Alabama was outcoached I know nothing about football Mr High and mighty.

So the 34 other points given up on defense didn't decide the game? Go back and look at auburn's schedule and show me a game vs a non-scrub team where they put up 34. We were CLEARLY the better team but found a way to lose. Yet you say "luck" lol. If your kicker CAN'T KICK, please tell me why you wouldn't play more aggressive and try for a touchdown. How many times does the guy have to hit his head against the wall to learn his lesson? Oh and I'm sure the way the game ended on a stupid play was also not coaching right?

I'm not saying Saban isn't the GOAT. i'm just saying it's very frustrating as a fan to see the same story happen so many times in critical situations.

Last time alabama failed to win the national championship 2 years running (2013 and 2014) we won the next year versus Clemson and 2 years later versus Georgia. Alot of talking heads said we were done. I expect this to do nothing but motivate saban more. We will be back next year.

I don't think we know the meaning of containment on the ends. So frustrating watch the ends consistently crash down and the QB runs around them. Just like on the 2 point conversion. the end crashed down and thus no containment and the AU QB has an easy throw with no pressure.
