So our week of college athletics is completed and we had some victories (Richmond and Citrus Bowl -- and Gator victory for my husband) while I lost yesterday against the Gators and UCF lost to Temple. Temple, like Florida, scored big on runs late in the game to beat UCF. Had to be disappointing to UCF fans as it is to us losing yet another close game. So frustrating for such a fabulous first half to be obliterated down the stretch. BTW, how awesome was Galin Smith during the first half -- who was that guy??
Dazon did start for UCF on Tuesday against Temple. He played point quite a bit. Didn't score many points but put up large assist and rebound numbers. He has switched up his hairstyle a bit -- the "mohawk" is now long enough to capture into a bit of a ponytail for games.
We had fabulous seats for Florida game -- right above the tunnel where Alabama entered/exited the floor and just above the end of the Alabama bench. Don't know how much it appeared on TV, but the guys were absolutely spent at the end of the game -- max effort (but maybe not the most efficacious effort??). Coach Oats was absolutely furious after the game was over; his hatred of losing was definitely on display.

Greg Byrne got up and walked over to intercept Oats as he left the bench to enter the tunnel and Oats wouldn't even turn to make eye contact with Byrne.
Also not sure how evident it was that Alex Reece really aggravated his hip injury again during a fall in the game. He left with a staff member along with the handheld device that I've seen them use on his hip several times already this year. Later in the game, during a timeout, Alex didn't even join the team huddle but tried to sit on the bench alone. It appeared he could barely move his left leg to straighten it out. I know he was physically ill (i.e., nausea) bu I'm not convinced that he needs to continue to play . . . seems to just make the injury worse. He, of course, went back in the game when Herb fouled out, but is really hampered, I think, with that hip injury.
