I see it as what American family used to look like even 80-100 years ago. The way most Americans do "family" these days was not always "the way it's always been done"; today's American families seem to follow the line of raising productive individuals, without much of a connection to the family.
I maybe wrong on this but I get the feeling Tua's dad has the final say so in family decisions. I also get the feeling they don't make decisions solely on the interest of the individual but based on the family unit as a whole. Where as my parents (and possibly yours) would tell me "You make the decision based on what you want to do and your life. We'll give our advice. But ultimately it's your life and you have to establish your own path." I don't think their family works that way. 😊

As GP said above, Mac accepted the challenge to compete with Tua, learned the system, and waited his turn. That says a lot about him. I have no idea how Young will fare this season (if there is one) and the sad part he can't benefit from a RS year since we are so thin at QB. Will CNS seek an experienced backup through the transfer portal?
To answer your question: IMO the answer is NO...not if that "experienced backup" wants to play. I think most experienced transfers are likely going to look for a place where there is no presumptive starter and he'd have a really good chance to start. Not only do we have that, we have a 5 star who potentially is good enough to play from day 1 (many recruiting experts have said this).

Like it or not, I think BY will enter fall camp as the #2 QB on the DC on potential alone.

If MJ goes down with injury or fails to meet expectations I think we go all-in with BY.

There is no guaranty Taulia will go to a south FL school, but IMO he will. What would be more interesting is; What if Birmingham had an NFL team and they drafted Tua? Would Taulia be in the transfer portal today?

That's where it get iffy. Is the concern for Lia to be closer to family OR to be able to play and possibly have his own NFL aspirations???

If I'm guessing it probably has a little to do with both.

I do not get the sense that anyone was being critical of Tua's family, I know I was not, but that the family's heredity and upbringing was very different from most all of us.
The FAMILY stayed together to come to Alabama and that was GREAT for the Alabama Crimson Tide and its FANS. The father, mother, et al must have done something RIGHT to raise such outstanding sons. Being a Christian, I just LOVE how Tua conducts himself. He is an AWESOME young man. I'm sure Lia is also. However, to keep the FAMILY TOGETHER as long as you can is not bad on the part of his father/mother. I hope Lia has GREAT success wherever he decides to attend school. I will be pulling for him to be very successful wherever he goes. Now, if he ends up playing against Alabama, I want him to be successful just enough to see his team lose to the Crimson Tide. Bottom line: I guess the FAMILY will stay TOGETHER in going to FLORIDA, just like they were in coming to ALABAMA. Roll Tide Roll and good luck Lia.

Between the caps and the bolding I'd think I just failed an ELA test...

Yeah, my brain rejects that kind of post. It is clearly english, but my brain says, "hieroglyphics".
I just try to emphasize things for the benefit of all the old people on TideFans, like me. Now, I could have made all caps + bold in my response, but you guys can be very harsh. It just makes it easier to read and you know what I'm emphasizing. Oh, you may want to tell BamaNation to get rid of the features including B for BOLD, I for italics, U for underline, font size, font color, etc. Just saying. Oh well, have a Roll Tide Roll kind of day. B1GTide, I do enjoy reading your excellent posts. BJ4TIDE, first time I've seen one of your post. Do I need to critique it? Now, I could have explained what I just said a lot better with EMPHASIS. Roll Tide Roll! I did look at the different fonts. One was a Georgia Font. I just can't bring myself to using that one. BamaNation, why is a DAWG Font on TideFans? Sorry, I just had to place emphasis on certain things in the last few remarks.
